Montserrat Magical Mountain and Wine Tasting in Penedes Region
Overview of your Barcelona tour
Experience a fantastic day trip from Barcelona getting to know the Magical mountain of Montserrat and then taste the local wine in the Penedes region. Go to heaven in the morning by heading to the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, up 2000 feet on a spectacular mountain structure, then head to the world pleasures of wine and cava tasting at a quite interesting winery! We will get to know the history, spirituality and legends of Montserrat, get to see the Black Virgin which protects the Sanctuary, or even listen to the Boys choir. I will insist on a hike to admire the views and take spectacular pictures. From there, we will drive for about one hour to the wine region of Penedes, the Capital of Wine and Cava. I will arrange for a winery visit with a tasting of 6 local wines (cava, 2 whites, 1 rose and 2 reds). You will be introduced to the local wines, walk through the wineries and explore the cellar. Note that if we listen to the boys' choir at 1 pm, we will have a fast snack before heading for the winery.
