Hi, My name is Alan. Although I was born in France and have lived in the UK, Italy, and Argentina, Catalonia has been my home for close to 20 years. I still don't know if I chose it or if it chose me, but what's drawn me to this place are its people, the culture, and history, not to forget its beautiful landscape. My free time is spent outdoors, climbing, trail running, mountain biking, or simply walking, observing, and reconnecting with nature. I'm a translator and interpreter, but my passion for the outdoors led me to become a guide in 2017. I am a qualified Mountain Leader and a member of the Union of International Mountain Leaders Associations (UIMLA). My tours are focused on giving you the opportunity to discover areas of natural beauty, away from the crowds. On a day out with me, we'll not only get to take some great pictures and be in awe of the many breathtakingly beautiful landscapes Catalonia has to offer, but we'll get to disconnect from the city and connect with nature, become more familiar with some of the local flora and fauna and inevitably enjoy some local products. My aim is for you to have a truly memorable and unique experience in nature, and for this to be a highlight of your stay in Catalonia. People inevitably come to Barcelona to visit the city but there are many amazing sites to discover close to the capital too, like Montserrat, the Costa Brava, or any of the mountains near the Catalan capital. I take great pride in the work that I do and always prioritize working with small groups. I get to be outdoors every day and feel very fortunate to be able to share some of Catalonia's treasures with people from all around the world. This is an off the beaten path kind of tour. We throughly enjoyed it, but it may not be for everyone. We are active and outdoorsy people. Alan is a wonderful tour guide and does all the little things to make sure his guests are well taken care of and safe. After spending some additional time with him, we realized how knowledgeable he was about the history of the area and really made it come alive for us. Fantastic hike! Some of the most beautiful coastline I've ever seen, and Alan was a great guide. He knew every inch of the trail, even when high waves sent us inland off the coast for a few hundred yards. He also knew the fauna and geology, all very informative! Your Barcelona tour itinerary
The section of the Camí de Ronda that we will hike will take us from the beautiful sandy beach of La Fosca to Calella de Palafrugell. We will get to visit quiet and isolated coves ; as we weave our way around the land, following the rugged coastline, we will come across ancient historical sites like the castle of St. Esteve (XI C. ) and the remains of the Iberian village (VI BC) on an outing that will leave you in awe of nature's force and inspiring beauty. At the end of our hike, you will have between 1h30-1h45 to wander around the quaint little town of Calella de Palafrugell where you can choose to have lunch in one of its many restaurants, overlooking the sea, go for a swim, or simply relax and soak up the energy of the Mediterranean.
