Overview of your Barcelona tour

Join me in this perfect tour for wine lovers that I have designed carefully. We'll drive to the beautiful countryside outside Barcelona into the D. O. Penedés and visit two great wineries. * You'll get to know the Catalan champenoise method sparkling wine, our CAVA, pride of Catalonia; * And we'll visit a winery specialized in great red, rosé & white wines. I'm an official licensed guide with a good background in wine knowledge. I have an official title and I am a Sommelier Level 2 candidate at the prestigious Londoner Wine EducationTrust. So you will get enjoy the landscapes of Penedés, learn the history of the area and the wine making, and taste great wines with comprehensive explanations from local experts and from myself. We'll drive to the wineries with an upscale 7 seater van. Shore excursion can be organized by customizing this tour for you. Please ask! I am looking forward to take you to the wineries!

What a wonderful tour! Mark arranged for a visit to an award winning family vineyard just outside of Barcelona, and took us there in his large comfortable car. We had a great day learning about the production of Cava and also still wine (including some aged in clay containers - the chardonnay was amazing). Because we were touring with Mark we had the opportunity to taste an expanded series of wines and enjoyed a lovely repast of cheeses, meats, fruits and chocolates. Mark was very helpful in providing his insights into the region, the winery and the wines. It was a pleasure to share the day with him. We've done a lot of wine tastings and vineyard tours, and nothing has come close to what Mark provided.

This tour is why we use Tours by Locals. Mark is a terrific tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the area. We drove to two boutique wineries. It was quite refreshing to bypass the factory wineries with huge tour buses in the parking lot and get private tours of two very nice small family-run wineries. Mark picked us up at our hotel, drove us to the wineries and drove us back to the hotel. Great service. Knowing where to go for the best experience is critical. Mark knocked it out of the park.

This was the second tour with Mark -such an excellent guide - as the capstone to our two weeks in Spain. He developed an itinerary for exploring a bit of the nearby Penedes wine region based on our interests (small, distinctive and unique wineries). As with other wine tours in Europe, two wineries is about all you can do in a 6-hour time block. We enjoyed our visits and our time with Mark. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as he is such a great guy and so knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Perfect day with Mark P! We've used TBL all over Europe with consistently good results. Mark was no exception. We went on an all-day wine tour in the countryside around Barcelona. Mark picked excellent wineries to visit and a fantastic place for lunch. His knowledge of wine and architecture (and passion for each) made it a fun and educational outing. Mark's english was perfect (better than ours occasionally..) and he made sure all members of our group were included. Great experience!

The private, very spacious van with leather seats and AC is offered free of charge in order to allow us to get to the places of the tour. It is not part of the cost of the tour.
