Montse comes from Montserrat, and Montserrat is one of the few places in the world where the beauty of nature, culture and spirituality are so closely intertwined. Montserrat is not only a spectacular mountain from the geological point of view, it is also a holy mountain for the Christians and a paradise for hikers. During this 5 hour tour we'll explore the Abbey of Montserrat and discover the legends related to the Medieval ages Monastery and its Black Madonna. Would you like to walk? If so, bring comfortable shoes and prepare to be awed. Do you prefer to skip the walking? Visit with me the museum, which boasts a huge collection of artistic masterpieces spanning from the 13th to 20th centuries. . Once inside Montserrat monastery, we'll be hypnotized by the celestial music of a choir with over 700 years of history. Come to enjoy a unique landscape, a pilgrimage place, the heart of the Catalan identity.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
-We suggest to start the tour at 8, 30 to get to Montserrat Abbey early in the morning before the big buses full of tourists get there. -If we get early we will be able to see and venerate the holy image of our lady of Montserrat skipping the long waiting line. -The 5h hour tour will also allow us plenty of time in Montserrat and see the boy's choir starting at 1 pm. -In case you are not interested in the above activities we can schedule the tour a bit later or in the afternoon. -8, 30 am, departure from Barcelona (Hotel, Airport or Cruise Ship Terminal) and drive to Montserrat Mountain (30 miles from Barcelona or 55 minutes). -Walking tour Basilica and Shrine of the Black Madonna (45 minutes) -Audiovisual show (15 minutes) -Walking tour around the Abbey (45 minutes) -Montserrat's Art Museum tour (1 hour 30 minutes) or -Easy trekking to enjoy the views and the forest.
