My name is João, a native son of Porto. I've been a certified Tourism Animator for the last 7 years, a Gentleman Rider for a few decades now and most importantly, in love with my city, her stories and importance in the World history. After a successfull, but not very fullfilling, career in management, I decided to create experiences that would allow me to work on and share my passions: my classic motorcycles, the love of my city, history and storytelling ( yes, I talk a bit!) That combination came together naturally to create my tour experiences that use the old neighborhoods, landmarks, viewpoints and facades to tell you the history and stories of Porto. ( It also allows me to start tours with guests and end with friends. ) My tours focus on: Porto history, local stories, local perspective, locals and their habits, landmarks, vistas; viewpoints, photography and wine tasting. After being a tourism guide for 7 years I realize that meeting new people and seeing them fall in love with Porto is what I really love to do. Overview of your Porto tour
Ready to explore Porto, through the old neighborhoods and narrow streets? We will be the only ones exploring Porto aboard our classic sidecar as I'm the only one in Porto doing this experience :) Discover Porto from the perspective of a local and in a sidecar, at a slow pace and with lots of stops for stories, history and photos! Like a walking tour but covering 10x more and looking fabulous while doing it! From the cruise port entrance, along the Douro river and into the narrow streets of the Historical center. I will use the old neighborhoods, with its narrow streets, facades and viewpoints with beautiful vistas to tell you the history and local stories of Porto. Now let's cross to Gaia and enjoy a Port wine tasting at the local market and after, one of the best views of the city! It's time to start slowly making our way to drop you off at the cruise ship. The Perfect Overview of Porto away from the big bus. Welcome!
Your Porto tour itinerary
Welcome to Porto! • I will meet at the cruise Port entrance and explain what's our plan. • From there we'll make our way along the beach to the mouth to the river and follow the road along the Douro to the to the Historical center, with several stops for amazing vistas! • From the river we will start to explore up the hills of Porto, with their old neighborhoods like Miragaia, Virtudes, Vitória and Clérigos to see how the city grew in the last 1000 years. • I'll use the facades, monuments and amazing vistas to show you Porto's history in places like Clérigos Tower, Galerias de Paris, Carmo church, Aliados Avenue, Eiffel's bridge and Sé Cathedral, just to name a few of the highlights. • After learning about Porto's history, let's cross the river Douro to Gaia and the Port wine neighborhood, have a Port tasting and enjoy the best view of Porto! • Unfortunately it's time to drop you off at your ship or at the city center to explore a bit more on your own. All my tours can be customized upon request.

i'm the only sidecar experience in Porto so expect a unique and glamorous experience: Classic looking motorcycle with sidecar, with modern engine and brakes. Room for 2 passengers, one on the sidecar and the other on the back of your private driver/guide. Prices are per sidecar, 1 or 2 passengers. 4 sidecars available for up to 8 passengers, please inquire for a quote.
