Porto City & Wine Tasting - Private Tour

Had a great tour seeing and learning all about Porto. Our vehicle was roomy, clean and comfortable. Our lunch in Gia was especially delicious, but the highlight was the port wine tour at Cockburne port cellars. Fine wine tasting and amazing cellars. Well worth the money for both first time and repeat visitors to the Porto region.

My husband and I enjoyed our day in Porto with Miguel. We got to see a lot of this beautiful city, old and new, enjoyed fresh grilled fish with all the trimmings in the fishing village of Afurada for lunch, and (of course) did a classic Port tasting and learned about the local winemaking process. Miguel was knowledgeable and flexible and a great driver in the narrow winding streets of this historic city. Highly recommend!

Miguel was an outstanding guide. He has a great knowledge of Portuguese history, and tells the stories in such an interesting way. He was very personable and was very happy to answer any questions we had about Portuguese culture. We walked through some very old parts of the city which are a UNESCO world heritage site. We went by his car to the other side of the river. The views of Porto were beautiful. While we were there, we had a wine tasting tour which was excellent. We learned so much about Porto because of Miguel.

We had a wonderful tour with an expert guide. He customized it to focus on our interests and our preferred tineframe. He has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the city and country. Our lunch in a local fishing village near the bank of the Douro River was fantastic, as was the tour and port wine tasting at the family run Poças. Highly recommend him.

We loved this tour! Miguel had a last minute delay, so Igor was our guide. He started with an informative walking tour of city highlights, including notable must-see monuments, Porto history, and a few off-the-beaten-path oddities. Next he drove us past other sights to the fishing village for a fresh grilled fish lunch at a small place full of local workers. Then on to two port wine tastings, one large producer and one small one, as requested. Igor is friendly, organized, easy-going, and full of amusing stories. He was very attentive to our needs and interests. We are a well-traveled couple in our 70’s with an interest in wine. Igor is a sommelier, and this tour was perfect for us. Highly recommend!
