Overview of your Porto tour
Through a unique landscape of mountain and river it was born one of the most famous God nectars: Port wine Designated UNESCO World Heritage, the wine valleys of the Douro region provide some of the most spectacular scenery in Portugal. Enjoy a leisurely tour in a private van through this magnificent countryside en route to the Douro Valley. The first stop will be the charming town of Amarante, an ancient town filled with fine Romanesque architecture including the 16th century Monastery of São Goncalo on the banks of the river and the lovely Roman Bridge. In Pinhao you will see the traditional train station adorned with historic tiles depicting the lifestyle of the locals before arriving to an award winning wine estate where you will indulge in an impressive gourmet lunch of food & wine pairing followed by a guided cellar tour and wine tasting. Option of adding a river cruise on a traditional rabelo boat to this tour (1 hour).
Your Porto tour itinerary
Pick up at the port, hotel or other location as requested by guest (in Porto or the Douro Valley). Drive to the Douro Valley. First stop in Amarante. Pass through Peso de Regua. Arrive to Pinhao to view the historic train station. Continue to the wine estate for lunch, guided tour and wine tasting. Stop at incredible viewpoints. Option of a river cruise (1 hour) Return to Porto (or Douro Valley).
