From the wine tasting at multiple locations, to the private boat tour on the river, to eating at a local family owned restaurant off the beaten track, just an incredible day. This was our 3rd day with Miguel and once again he did not disappoint. No detail left to chance. A few planned and fun surprises along the way. Once again what made this tour so fantastic was our guide Miguel. We spent 3 days in a row with him and as I stated in a previous review we started as customers with our guide and ended as friends. Just an amazing day in the Douro Valley with an incredible human being sharing his country and culture with us! All our Tours with Miguel were amazing but this was our favorite of the 3.

The 4 of us toured the Douro Valley with Miguel Torga in his Mercedes van. The car was immaculate and he was an excellent driver. We visited two wineries, took an hour boat ride on the Douro River, saw the tiles at the railroad station in Pinhao, and had a wonderful lunch at a small restaurant on top of a mountain with beautiful views. Miguel was very knowledgable about all-things Douro valley, kind, well-spoken, and eager that we all have a wonderful time, which we did. His personal experiences with the food and wine of the valley were invaluable. We tasted Port wines at vineyards we had not heard of, that were fabulous and the restaurant he chose for us was delicious and the owners very welcoming and helpful. We would all highly recommend Miguel if you are planning a trip to the Douro valley.

Miguel was just wonderful. His knowledge of the area and his compassion was second to none. He was personable and cared as to whether we were having a good time. Thank you so much for a truly enjoyable day!

Our tour with Miguel in the Douro Valley was exceptional! He set up unique experiences at small and larger wineries and we had one of the best meals of our lives at a small restaurant that we otherwise would have passed right by. His love of the region shows through as he expertly guided through the stunning mountains and winding byways. He even thought to stop at a roadside stand so we could bring back cherries that were in season. His kindness and knowledge of the area combined to make it a trip to remember!

Miguel worked hard to make our day a complete success, rolling with our cruise line’s change of docking arrival time, showing up early, and then shepherding us through a magical day in Portugal. He was extremely accommodating of one of our guest’s recent ankle break, and subsequent use of a scooter. The places he chose to take us for wine tastings and food were enjoyed by all, and his knowledge of the area was in evidence at all times. We highly recommend him to any future guest!
