Porto's soul (Alma Portuense) is often poudly mentioned when talking to locals about their identity. I invite you to discover, through this tour, the origins and development of this identity and the different influences that shaped the history of Porto and it's people and what made it a UNESCO's World Heritage place. The tour will be divided in three acts: The Bishop's city, The Royal Wedding and Porto's People. We will start at Jardim do Morro to set the stage while overlooking the city. Then we will head towards the area of the Cathedral and the Bishops Palace. Then we will explore the streets of the old town and take a break for a drink. Afterwards we will head towards the S. Francisco Church and the Old Customs building ending at Ribeira overlooking the river.
Ana Margarida was an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable and charming ,it was a pleasure to spend the morning exploring the city with her. She also gave us some tips about how to spend the rest of our time in Porto which were v useful. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide.

We enjoyed learning about the history of Porto and will remember this beautiful city very fondly thanks to her.
Ana Margerida is a very knowledgeable and thoughtful person. She has studied Porto as an academic subject and live there extensively. So, she is a wonderful guide. She has also lived in and travelled to many other places, so she can contextualise her beloved Porto in a broader historic and social space. And, least but not least, Ana Margerida is a lovely and entertaining person. I can recommend her with 5 stars!
Ana Margarida was a special tour guide. She has a lot of pride in her city and is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed her company and being able to engage in in-depth discussions about the Portuguese history and culture. Do yourself a favor and hire her for your next tour of Porto.
In an otherwise chaotic first day/first visit to Portugal, Ana provided just the perfect ending. We were originally scheduled for a 3:00 tour and she adjusted her schedule to meet us at a very convenient spot at 7:00 pm. After an abbreviated tour she guided us to a lovely local restaurant and joined us for a great Portuguese meal. She’s fun, knowledgeable and flexible! Highly recommend her.
