Hello, My Name is Rui Pedro and I'm a private guide, based at this beautiful city of Porto. I have been a private tour guide for 8 years now. Departing from Oporto where the river flows, we can meet this landscape, the first demarcated region of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is here where the world appreciated port wine is produced. You will visit 2 important cities of the region: Amarante with its beautiful S. Gonçalo Church and Lamego with its Important Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, on the top of the hill and views over the Valley, also on the path to Santiago de Compostela. Be delight with the amazing landscapes while we drive to the center of the Valley by the National Road 222, river side, elected by Travel Magazine as the best road to drive in the world. And of course this tour won't by completed if you don't have a taste of the best that this Valley Offers, Wine, Olive oil and honey.

Rui Pablo was FANTASTIC! Such a wealth of information! It was raining and poor weather prevented us from taking the river boat trip; however, Pablo made up for it by driving us up and down the Douro River Valley. I’m not saying we saw any more than we would on the boat, but I don’t feel that we missed out on anything. We had a fabulous initial wine tasting at Fonte do Minho - a small, boutique winery with excellent wines and ports. A must visit ! Then we toured for another two hours before we had a fantastic lunch, complete with wine and port. More touring, more sites to see, and we ended up at the Pacheca Port Cellars, which was the perfect end to a great day. Pedro is an excellent driver and an excellent tour guide. A full five star recommendation.
