My name is Ricardo Manuel and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even in 2021 with a pandemic, work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat Wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living. You will confer with a Douro Valley Wine Expert to share his knowledge with you through a glass of port wine, from this moment on, you will see wine from a different point of view!!!
Ricardo was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond he knew so much about the area and was so much fun. He knew that I had celiac disease and he made sure that I was accommodated at turn. He even showed up at my hotel the day we were checking out with gluten-free nata. I highly recommend the tour specifically Ricardo.
Ricardo is one of the best tour guides we have ever had. He drove us through the beautiful Douro Valley on our way to a local winery where we tasted amazing wines with a very knowledgeable associate of the winery. After that we drove to the home/Airbnb of a wine connoisseur where we tasted more local wines and had a beautiful home-cooked lunch. During the drive there and drive back Ricardo educated us on so much about what we were seeing in this beautiful country. He also brought a special bottle of port to share with us. Tours with Ricardo‘s are so good. They justify building an entire trip around a visit to Porto.

We had the most enjoyable day with Ricardo. We visited a lovely private winery for a tasting and had a wonderful lunch with Ricardo's friends and wine expert. Ricardo went way above and beyond with special treats and extras for us. We have traveled extensively and have had many great guides. Ricardo is a highlight in our experiences—highest recommendation.
I couldn’t rate our experience with Ricardo any higher. A 100% honest local who knows his way around. We were in the back of beyond’s of the Douro valley for the day. Fantastic experience.
