João was amazing! He shared his beautiful country with us and had many personal connections in the city that opened some doors that allowed us to do things that would not have otherwise been possible. His car was very comfortable. His communication prior to the tour was excellent. His knowledge and passion was unmistakable. He was very engaging. He listened to our desires and customized the tour to fit us perfectly. I highly recommend him to anyone and would definitely say he is one of the best guides, if not the best, that we have had. Sintra was beautiful and amazing and I highly recommend going there, but even if you don’t go there, book something with João!

The Tour was fantastic. Joao really takes care of his guests. A short story. We were on the winding steep road to Pena Palace when the car in front of us stalled and started rolling backwards toward us. A certain accident. Joao put his van in park, jumped out, ran to the other car, took over and jumped in , and drove the car to safety. Really!!! What a nice man. What a great Tour. Sometime I hate to give reviews because the guide or restaurant gets too busy, but this man deserves that people know what a great guide and great person he is.

Best tour. Best guide. It was like traveling with an energetic, knowledgeable, personable best friend! In all of our tours - over many years - this is our favorite...all because of Jaoa. I had a special request to see la Quinta and we went there and Jaoa took some fabulous pics of us in the Initiation Well. He knew all the best photo spots, the best paths and was very conscious that the hills were steep and we were old-ish. We ate at the best places. We sang in the car. I can't remember a day when we had more fun. And the photos are magnificent! If you want a perfect day in Sintra...pick the perfectly wonderful Jaoa!!
