Hi there! I'm Sandra, a history buff and qualified Official Tour Guide. Welcome to this stone book that is Portugal! I feel so fortunate to be a true born and bred Lisbon local. A charming city of the Old Continent blessed with more than 300 sunny days a year. And we Portuguese certainly make the most of it, with terraces and squares on every corner! I am an experienced Guide specializing in day trips from Lisbon and museum guided tours. All peppered with a strong passion for history, art and storytelling. As a big time history lover, it's no big surprise that I am a fan of the History Channel. And, being passionate about the history of the Portuguese Templar Knights (a personal favourite), I of course follow The Curse of Oak Island. When I'm not guiding, you'll find me browsing old bookshops for another history book, or enjoying a sunny day on the terrace of a Lisbon café overlooking the wide Tagus river. HOW IT ALL STARTED I'm a Journalism graduate and studied in Australia for a year - many moons ago. Back in Portugal, I took a career turn, went back to school and started all over again. I've always loved history and, as a former journalist, I like nothing more than sharing a tale or two. And that's how I started sharing stories with people like you. From the city to the mountains and to the coast - join me in this very comprehensive tour covering the highlights of Lisbon region. Soak up the dreamy landscapes of mountaintop Sintra and visit the fairy-tale Pena Palace. After exploring Sintra's historic center, we'll head to the cliff to take in the views from the Cape of Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe. We will end in relaxation mode, visiting the coastal Cascais, formerly a fishing village, therefore the perfect place for a nice lunch.
We cannot recommend Sandra highly enough. She was knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, and able to pace the tour to fit our needs. We had a great, fun, full day seeing the Pena Palace and Cascais. She recommended great ideas for our free time during the day. It was WELL worth the money! Skipping the line and being the first at Pena Palace is the only way to go. We got great insights from Sandra and fabulous pictures without other tourists in the shots.
Sandra is a true delight and I recommend her highly. Bright, witty, enthusiastic, knowledgeable. Paces tour to the needs of the client. Was fun to spend a day with her - she even made a rainy day bright! Very good job!
Pleasant and knowledgeable guide, she recommended a cafe and restaurant for us to enjoy and we had ample time in each place in itinerary. Microphone in the private luxury van, water bottles and headphones were provided for tour. Keep in mind there is steep walking to the castle, wear comfortable shoes. Excellent tour day to Sintra, The Pena Palace and Cascais. Sandra is a very profesional and knowledgeable guide, she knows very well the history of her country with lots of fun details. We spent a great day with her, she is very friendly. At the Pena Palace we did not need to make a line, it was VIP entrance which saves a lot of time because the line was very long and the morning very cold. 28th of December! At Cascais she recommended the perfect restaurant, we were so pleased! The car was very comfortable and the driving very careful. We really encourage you to take this beautiful tour day with her you wont regret ti!
4 of us booked a private tour with Sandra and we had a wonderful time. She is extremely knowledgeable, has a wonderful sense of humor and quickly picked up on our group dynamic! She kept us on a schedule while making us feel very relaxed and unrushed. And her knowledge was unsurpassed. There was nothing that we either passed in the car, or started to talk about, that she could not provide insight to. This was a great tour, a great guide and a wonderful day!
