Overview of your Lisbon tour
A medieval village of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well preserved in Portugal. Óbidos had a strategic importance in the portuguese territory, was already occupied before the Romans by the first iron explorers that reached the Iberian Peninsula more than 3000 years ago. The village became more prosperous from the moment it was chosen by the royal family. Named as the House of the Queens who, throughout the various dynasties, have been benefiting and enriching the region. Within the walls, we find a well-preserved medieval castle, a maze of tiny streets and white and blue houses that delight those who wander around. The Mother Church of Santa Maria, the Church of St. Peter, the Pillory the view outside the walls, the Aqueduct and the Shrine of Senhor Jesus da Pedra, are some of the monuments that draw the most attention in this dream village.
