In this tour we will discover Lisbon's moorish heritage , by walking the old neighbourhoods of Alfama (including the former Medina and its walls) and Mouraria (the multicultural district where Fado music was born). We will also pass by the military fortress that became St Jorge's Castle, conquered by the first portuguese king, Dom Afonso Henriques! You will learn , why Lisbon became so important during the 400 years of moorish occupation; what traditions were passed to us, from music, to language, artcrafts, science. , and much more. . .
