Gerardo was an excellent tour guide, new the history of Sintra and the Pena Palace! My wife and he had studied the history of the Knights of Templar and had a great conversation over lunch at this beautiful hilltop restaurant in Sintra! I would highly recommend.
The tour with Gerardo was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about all the history of the city of Lisbon and the Sintra and Cascais areas. The lunch spot was perfect. I would recommend him to anyone I know visiting Lisbon.
Gerardo gave our group of 7 a great tour of Sintra. He led us through the Pena Palace providing detailed insight into its history, took us to the historic downtown, and drove us by other Sintra highlights, where we stopped for photos. Gerardo knew the perfect spots to capture meaningful views and photos of the Sintra palaces. He also arranged for us to go to a great Alfama Fado restaurant that evening, which added to our adventure.

Gerardo did an outstanding job navigating us through Sintra on a day when there was a spontaneous strike by staff at the tourist sites. Using his contacts he was able to determine which sites would be open and he managed to get to them so that we were able to see almost everything that we had hoped to. Additionally his breath of historical knowledge about the area was invaluable.
Geraldo was a terrific tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and really was able to tailor the tour to what we wanted. We were actively involved by getting out of the car and walking around the various sites, learning as we went. We had a much better understanding of Portugal's history and culture after this tour. Geraldo took us to a great restaurant that is a favorite with the locals, and we enjoyed a delicious meal. He took a scenic ride along the shore, bringing us back to our hotel. Highly recommend!
We will go straight to Sintra, which is 20 miles away from Lisbon in a 30 minutes trip. First Stop at historic Center to see the National Palace of Sintra and we will make a short walk tour at the historic Center. Time to enjoy the mood of the village and try the "travesseiro" typical sweet of Sintra. We will continue with our tour to Regaleira where we will take an hour to visit it. Then we find out Pena Palace, the most extravagant Portuguese palace built on a rock altitude 1500ft dominating the entire coast to Lisbon. The Arabic architecture and Manueline very present in this palace, give life to the pure romantic style Portuguese. Mandatory we will pass through Moors Castle, Seteais Palace, and Mosserrate Palace, before the return to Lisbon.
