You’ll discover Fátima’s deep spiritual meaning, from the Apparitions of Our Lady of the Rosary witnessed by the shepherd children Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta in 1917, to the remarkable faith that continues to draw pilgrims from around the world. We’ll then explore Tomar, home to the impressive Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Knights Templar. As your private, educated guide, I’ll bring to life the true history of the Templars “written in stone.” You’ll also experience walking atop a real 16th-century aqueduct and visit charming hidden spots only insiders know. ●Departure from Lisbon to Tomar (136km-1h. 40min). Along the way we will enjoy the green scenery of Ribatejo, one of these regions that remains unknown for tourism where agriculture is of upmost importance. ●Tomar is a charming and historically outstanding town on the banks of the Nabão River. It is dominated by a 12th-century Templar castle containing one of the country's most significant and impressive monuments, the Convent of Christ(VISIT WITH THE GUIDE). ●Aqueduct of Pegões, Tomar (VISIT WITH THE GUIDE) Built to serve water to the Convent of Christ. Arrival at Fátima. ●Houses of the shepherds (VISIT WITH THE GUIDE) Arrival with the guide at ●The Recint. ●Chapel of Apparitions. It was the first building constructed in the Cova da Iria, at the place of Our Lady's Apparitions. ●Basilica. Begun in 1928 and consecrated on 7 October 1953 ●Berlin Wall.
