Overview of your Lisbon tour
Welcome to Fatima. Come fulfill a promise, come on a pilgrimage. The Fatima tour is a special one to me, since it has a deeper meaning to itself. Besides Fatima's pilgrimage being a big part of our country's culture, it's also the place where many catholic people around the world come to share and practice their spiritual beliefs and connect to God through prayer. I personally find it beautiful, the way people move around by faith. Especially due to the fact that a lot of portuguese families come here to pray! Therefore, this experience should be a must on your Portugal bucket list. Also in our tour, discover the story of 3 children who profoundly marked Portuguese society in the 20th century and their relationship with Pope John Paul II. Here you'll not only be visiting the Sanctuary, but you'll also get to know the village where the little shepherds lived, their houses, which are preserved as they were in 1917. And if you're lucky, we might even find the children's relatives! Hope you'll join me!!

Where do I start we had the best three days. He was on time and let us explore and didn’t push us to hurry. His knowledge of Portuguese history was extensive and how it tied into other world history events. I really appreciated that he didn’t walk fast and I could keep up since I just replaced my hip. Joao is a phenomenal tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the culture and history of Portugal as well as Europe in general. There were lots of “stories” along the way; we were constantly learning things which added greatly to the tour. He is an excellent driver who knows the back ways and parking secrets. We had two tours and Joao was very accommodating in terms of our schedule and was able to cover so much. We had two wonderful lunches at local restaurants he recommended. We highly recommend him and would definitely book him for our next visit to Lisbon.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
- The tour starts in Lisbon, where the passengers will go on a private van straight to Fátima (one hour and a half ride). - The first stop is dedicated to the purchase of religious items, that can be blessed on the Sanctuary afterwards. - We'll then visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima. - Next, we'll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary. - Afterwards, we'll visit the Chapel of Apparitions. - Later, we'll visit the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity. - After these visits, we'll have a lunch break, up to an hour and a half. - We'll then visit Aljustrel, the Village of the Little Shepherds. - Arriving to Aljustrel, we'll visit the house of Francisco and Jacinta, 2 of 3 siblings who witnessed a holy apparition. - Next, we'll visit the house of Lúcia (site of the angel's second apparition in 1916). - At last, we'll drive back to Lisbon. This itinerary could be customized.
