Hello from Lisbon!! I'm António and I'm a professional tour guide. I was born and raised in the magical town of Sintra, right next to Lisbon. I've traveled the world but it's here, in the cosyness of home, that I feel the most happy. And it's this passion for Portugal in all its diversity that led me to love sharing the wonders of my country with others. Visitors still become surprised with the amount of beauty and history/culture they come a cross in Portugal and telling them those stories and showing those places is something that gives me great pleasure and that makes me enjoy touring so much. I'm naturally very curious (don't be surprised if I ask you a ton of questions about your country). Is this curiosity that keeps motivating me to know more about how Portugal became what it is now a days in all aspects. And as a tour guide this is something I'm proud of. After all, my main goal is for you and your party have the most fun possible while experiencing and learning about this wonderfull European country. In most tours I try to balance between history, culture, nature and beautiful scenery. For that I have specialized in Private tours so we can have all the flexibility of time and itinerary that better suits you. Customized tours are very welcome as well so do not hesitate. Before becoming a tour guide I've studied Physical Geography and a Master's in Coastal Dynamics. This is something that I still love and follow but it was not so attractive professionally. Come discover the Alentejo region! Where the Portuguese culture is most alive and untouched. On this tour we will visit the heart of this rural Portuguese region. Here lies the museum like city of Évora and the pure medieval village of Monsaraz. From the Neolithic (6000 BC) to the Roman empire, passing through the strong Arabic domination to the final settling of the Christians through a hired thief by the first Portuguese king, this place has it all and I can't wait to share it with you and the amazing stories that go with it. Being surrounded by the vast rural plains of the Alentejo region, it couldn't be a better place to discover the Portuguese countryside and gastronomy: Olive oil, Wine and Cork tree forests. How can one not love the combination of fantastic history/culture, pristine natural scenery of the most biodiverse regions in Portugal and amazing scenery of Castles, Nature and little villages following you everywhere.

We had an amazing day with António! Our family of 4 (including two teens) had a great time on the gorgeous drives through the Portuguese countryside and on the walking tours through the little towns. Lunch in Monsaraz was both gorgeous (because of the 180degree vista) & delicious at the same time. António was easy going, informative, considerate & lots of fun! We had a wonderful day with Antonio. He really brought Evora and Monsaraz alive with his explanations of history and he made the day really fun. He took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch and even stopped to show us a cork tree and how it is used to make the cork products that Portugal is so well known for. His English is perfect. I would highly recommend Antonio if you are planning a tour when you visit Lisbon.

Enjoy a complimentary Hotel pick up from your guide at 8:30 and a 1:30hs ride to Évora through beautiful country side while I'll tell you all about the cork plantation we will cross, local biodiversity and the Alentejo region's unique identity. Once In Évora, apart from wandering through its beautiful streets, we will visit the 3 most amazing monuments in the small city - the Bone Chapel, Évora Cathedral and the Roman temple of Diana. In between this visits we will stop to enjoy Alentejo's renowned gastronomy and its prized wines. We will drive another 30 minutes to discover the medieval walled town of Monsaraz. This hilltop town and castle are a unique exemple of the Portuguese medieval architecture and offer some of the best views in the region - over the biggest artificial lake in Europe and the spanish border. From Monsaraz, at the end of the day, we will drive back to Lisbon and drop you off at your place. -The tour can be customised according to your preferences, please inquire
