Our journey begins in Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood, where narrow streets, scenic viewpoints and the imposing Cathedral reveal centuries of history. As we walk through this charming district, I'll bring the city to life through local stories, traditions and fascinating details often missed by visitors. We will then continue to the elegant downtown area rebuilt after the devastating 1755 earthquake. Here, you'll discover how the Marquis of Pombal transformed Lisbon into one of Europe's most modern cities of its time. Along the way, we'll admire some of Lisbon's most important squares before ending our experience with one of Portugal's most beloved treats: the iconic Pastel de Nata

Ana stepped in to be our guide on short notice, as our original guide was unable to do the tour. She was absolutely wonderful and we had a great day. Ana was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We did the highlights of Lisbon and then travelled out to Sintra. While we were in Sintra there was a complete power failure throughout Portugal. We decided, with Ana to cut our tour short and head back before the chaos started. It was a good decision as it still took us 2 hrs. to travel the 30 km back but Ana got us to the ship safe and sound through very heavy traffic. Thanks for looking after us so well Ana!

My partner and I arrived to Lisbon by plane at 6:00 in the morning, slept for a few hours at our hotel in Alfama, and then were greeted at the door by Ana for an afternoon walking tour. She spent three and a half hours with us, and it was a lovely introduction to the city and the country. Ana is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. She taught us about history and culture, and she answered all of our questions with friendly enthusiasm. I could not recommend this tour more strongly.

As we stroll through its grand streets and squares, you'll learn how Lisbon transformed into a modern European capital. Praça do Comércio Our experience concludes at Lisbon's majestic waterfront square, once the ceremonial entrance to the city and still one of its most iconic landmarks.
