Walking tour in the monumental area of Lisbon
Overview of your Lisbon tour
Lets travel back to the 15th and 16th centuries and imagine how life was during this exciting moment of the Portuguese history. How did it started? Where did we go? In which conditions did we travel? What changed with the Discoveries? If you like history and adventure this is your tour! This area of Lisbon is known for the two Unesco Heritage Sites: the Belém Tour and the Jerónimos Monastery, both symbols of Lisbon. We will follow the tour with the magnificent Padrão dos Descobrimentos, an homage to all the Portuguese who took part of the Discoveries. Finally, we will pass by the famous Pastéis de Belém, the perfect place to try one of the Portuguese delicacies and discover this unique flavour.
Your Lisbon tour itinerary
-We start at the Belém Tower, considered the symbol of Lisbon - see the monument from the outside. -Then we walk to the iconic Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) - see the monument from the outside. -After this monument we continue to the Jerónimos Monastery, where we visit the church, time allowing (please notice that the church is closed on monday). -Finally the most well-known pastry shop in Lisbon, Pastéis de Belém, for the custard tart tasting. The tour can be customised according to your preferences, please inquire.
