Hola! A great private journey is all about freedom, seamless comfort, and the luxury of exploring completely at your own pace. Imagine stepping into the Yucatan Peninsula knowing that every logistical detail is fully taken care of, leaving you with nothing to do but deeply connect with the landscape, breathe, and contemplate the moment. For 15 years, I have been guiding travelers through the beautiful subtropical jungles, wetlands, and living communities of this region. Together, we will naturally shape our conversations around your personal interests, breaking down our vibrant history in a way that truly resonates with you. I like to use a natural sense of humor and modern comparisons to keep our journey lively, fresh, and engaging, even under the afternoon sun. I design the rhythm of your day so you can step out of your comfort zone in complete safety, returning to your hotel mentally refreshed and inspired. Mexico is a land of incredible depth, and my mission is to show you its authentic soul: the vibrant colors, the untold stories, the breathtaking landscapes, and even its historical scars and modern dreams. Evolution requires duality, and understanding this context makes the journey complete. My obsession with real food guarantees that you will experience the most authentic, hidden culinary flavors our country has to offer. 1. LIVE HANAL PIXÁN — In Yucatán, Day of the Dead is known as Hanal Pixán, a Maya tradition of remembering and welcoming loved ones who have passed. With deep Maya roots, the tradition places food at the heart of the celebration. At a family home in Tres Reyes, we’ll learn what Hanal Pixán means to Lucy and her family. 2. COOK & PREPARE THE ALTAR — Together with Lucy, we’ll prepare mucbipollo, the dish most closely associated with Hanal Pixán, and cook it in a pib, an underground oven with deep roots in Yucatán. While it cooks, we’ll help prepare part of the family altar and learn what its elements mean to them. Lucy speaks Maya and Spanish; I’ll help with translation and interpretation. 3. SHARE THE MEAL — When the mucbipollo is ready, we’ll sit together and share the food we prepared. The experience comes full circle: we prepare the food, prepare the altar, and learn why both are central to Hanal Pixán. This is a cultural and educational visit, with no expectation to purchase anything.
10:00 AM — HOTEL PICK-UP 12:00 PM — ARRIVE IN TRES REYES Lucy and her family will welcome us into their home. We’ll begin by talking about Hanal Pixán and what the tradition means to their family. 12:30 PM — COOK & PREPARE THE OFFERING Together, we’ll prepare mucbipollo and learn how it is cooked in the pib. While it cooks, we’ll place some elements of the family’s offering and learn from Lucy what they mean. I’ll provide translation and interpretation. 2:00 PM — SHARE THE MEAL Once the mucbipollo is ready, we’ll sit together and share the meal we prepared. The food, the offering and the family’s stories come together as one introduction to how Hanal Pixán is lived today. A FLEXIBLE EXPERIENCE The pace can be adapted to your interests. While the mucbipollo cooks, we can enjoy local snacks, walk through the community, or visit the cemetery to learn how Hanal Pixán is experienced locally. AFTER LUNCH We’ll return to your hotel, with the timing adapted to the pace of the experience.

**TRANSPORTATION** For 1–3 travelers, I’ll pick you up in a Suzuki Ertiga SUV. For larger groups or if you prefer more space, I’ll use a comfortable Toyota Hiace.
