Real Mayan Cooking Class

To cook and taste real Mayan food, you have to do it in a Real Mayan town. Everybody talks about Mayans and local food but people don't visit them and spend their time at touristy restaurants and not the real local ones. I invite you to have a real experience visiting the Canul family who are going to teach us how to prepare the must emblematic mayan dish called "cochinita pibil" You will learn from the beginning, how to fire the rocks and dig the hole where the meat is going to be cooked. The family is going to show you all the necessary ingredients for this dish and how to marinate the meat. While we do all of this, the Canuls are going to invite us something especial for breakfast. After you prepare everything, while we wait some hours for the Perfect cooking, I will take you to a natural reserve of spider monkeys and howler monkeys to hike in the jungle and try to find them un their natural hábitat. You can also do a zipeline and canoeing at that place. Sounds good? Join me!

I will pick you up at 7:30 AM at your place to drive directly to the mayan town. Arriving with the family. We will meet Lucy and all her family and start with all the activity. The first thing will be dig the hole where the food is going to be cooked and little by little the family is going to guide you to prepare everything. Finishing to cook, we will go to Punta Laguna to hike in the jungle to find monkeys in their natural hábitat. We will swim in a nice cenote. We will go back with Lucy's family to taste the "cochinita pibil" You cooked. Back to your place.
