Chichen Itza, Heart of the Mayan World - Private Shore Excursion

Chichen Itza is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Located in Piste Yucatan, it's a sacred complex of Mayan ruins that became an important archaeological site in the 1800s and attracts millions of tourists every year! It was one of the largest Mayan centers in the Yucatan Peninsula, and throughout its almost 1. 000 years of history, different adjacent villages have left their mark on the city. The Mayan & Toltec vision of the universe is revealed in their stone monuments & artistic works. The fusion of Mayan construction techniques with new elements from central Mexico make Chichen-Itza one of the most important examples of the Maya-Toltec civilization in Yucatan. Several buildings have survived the centuries, such as the Temple of the Warriors, El Castillo & El Caracol (circular observatory). On this tour, we'll go beyond the history and into cuisine & nature. We'll visit a family who'll prepare a authentic handmade Mayan meal for us with local ingredients, and swim in a cenote's crystalline waters!

·I'll pick you up from your hotel in the comfort of a private van in the early hours of the day, to head to one of the 7 wonders of the world, so we can enjoy being among the first to arrive at Mexico's most visited archaeological site. ·On arrival, we'll spend around 2 hours at Chichen Itza (UNESCO World Heritage Site), where I'll show you all the best there is to see. I'll be able to take pictures of you next to the authentic, colorful temples so you always remember your visit. ·We'll conclude our visit to the ruins going to the house of Claudia & Betos, a local family in Piste, to eat a delicious and traditional, tortillas-based meal. ·Claudia, Beto and myself will teach you a few words in Spanish during lunch! ·After finishing our lunch and saying goodbye to them, we'll drive about 20 minutes to a cenote, where you'll have a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. ·After splashing around in the cenote, we'll return to your hotel. The itinerary is flexible and can be customized.
