Note to travelers - I would encourage you to contact me before making your reservation, so that I can provide an experience that best meets your interest or needs. Hi! I am Kentaro (or "Ken"), working as a nationally licensed tour guide since 2015. Other than spending five years of my childhood in the US (State of Oregon), I have lived in the Greater Tokyo area my entire life. After graduating from college, I initially spent about 10 years working with a container shipping company headquartered in Singapore before making the shift to the tourism industry. My tour guiding focuses on central Tokyo and use the excellent public transportation system - perhaps one of the most efficient in the entire world. Not only is it the best way to quickly get around the city, it also gives you a good view of the way of life for locals living in Tokyo. After doing a tour with me, you should feel a lot more confident in being able to navigate the city on your own. I have tours of various themes suitable not just for first-time visitors to the city but repeating travelers who are seeking something different from their previous stays. During my time off, I also like to travel internationally just like you; I've done many visits to various parts of both Europe and Asia. Some of my tour content is inspired from my own experience of traveling. Thanks for reading this far into my profile and I look forward to assisting you with your Tokyo stay! ---Qualifications--- National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (2012-) Domestic Travel Service Supervisor (2020-) ---Transportation--- Tours are provided with the combination of walking and use of public transport. I do not offer the option of using a private vehicle. ---Restriction--- Due to my other work, I cannot do tours that would span multiple dates.

This is a tour intended for people short on time who want to see as much of the city as possible. Follow me, a long time resident of Tokyo, as I will help you to efficiently see many different areas in Tokyo. We will use the excellent public transport system (itself one of the points of interest in this city) in getting around. If you are joining a different group tour during your stay, I can arrange the content so there are no duplicates with your other activities. I also welcome any guests who are staying in central Tokyo pre/post-cruise and want to maximize your free time in the city.
Meet at your hotel or other designated location within central Tokyo. If you do not have a special request, I can suggest meeting at Tokyo Station/Marunouchi North Entrance. We look at some of the highlights of the city using public transport and through walking. The below are some suggestions, but what is covered will vary depending on your preferred pace or where we start the tour. Usually 3-4 places from this list can be visited. Depending on the timing, I can suggest many cherry blossom and other flower spots that is not on this list too. 1) Sensoji Temple and the Asakusa area 2) Imperial Palace East Gardens (closed on Mondays, Fridays) 3) Ginza, the city's high end area with unique contemporary architecture 4) Meiji Shrine, a large forested area in Harajuku 5) Shibuya, the famous crossing and the Hachi statue I would not recommend combining 1) Asakusa with 4) Harajuku and/or 5) Shibuya as these locations are in opposite ends of the city.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.

Option 1: Your hotel/accommodation or any other location within central Tokyo. Option 2: A designated spot next to the Tokyo Station (The guide will send you details with a map link after confirming the booking) I cannot meet you at Narita Airport or any of the cruise terminals in Yokohama as this is outside of Tokyo.
