Hello, I am Chiaki. I have been living in central Tokyo with my family for about 40 years. I love history, art, architecture, and dining, and I am pleased to share my knowledge as both a local and a professional. While I was in the UK, I began to view Japan from an outsider's perspective. I found Japanese culture to be interesting and attractive, encompassing its history, art, cuisine, and more, which has inspired me to become a guide interpreter. Tokyo is one of the world's largest cities, boasting an interesting mix of tradition and innovation, skyscrapers and gardens, artworks and technology, and more. It is also a paradise for foodies. Tokyo has all of these things in a very efficient and compact manner, with a friendly entrance and much complexity behind it. You can enjoy Tokyo for only half a day, but years might not be enough. I was born and raised in Izumo, a historic countryside in western Japan, and I also lived in the UK; however, I spent more than half of my life here in Tokyo. It means I know Tokyo very well, but I can view it from various perspectives. I am pleased to share my professional expertise, not only in Tokyo but also in many other parts of Japan, with my new friends from around the world. For when I am available, please check my half-day tour schedule. The tours would not be bookable if you specify the date within 3 days from now. If you would like to book me for tomorrow or the day after, please send me a message - I might be available. âą National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English; Cert. I mainly use public transportation and taxis when necessary in the Tokyo city center. I can also go with you in the vehicle you hired, or I can help you arrange a separate car and driver as a translator.

This is the best tour for first-timers, especially as the Day-2 morning tour! By walking and talking with me, a 40-year-long resident of Tokyo, you will get to know about the various faces of Tokyo, such as tradition, history, society, nice food, safeness and organized public transport. If necessary, I will let you know the basics of how to go around by public transport, which will be helpful when you do that by yourself. At Meiji Jingu shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to Meiji Emperor, you can have a nice heeling walk through the city-center forest to the shrine and pray for wishes. In Shibuya, you can be in the middle of the famous world's busiest crossing and see the statue of 'Hatchi, ' a movie-featured dog. In Asakusa, you will visit Sensoji temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. The tour ends in Ginza or any central Tokyo location of your preference, where you can start your free time.
âą 9:30 am - Meet at your hotel lobby. âą 10:00 am - Meiji Jingu Shrine. âą 11:00 am - Shibuya (big crossing, 'Hachi' dog statue, etc). âą 11:45 am - Asakusa (Senso-ji temple). âą 1:30 pm - End of the tour in Ginza, Tsukiji or any city center location of your preference.
