Meet Your Guide – Yoshi Hi, I’m Yoshi! I’m a nationally licensed tour guide with over seven years of experience guiding visitors around Tokyo and the surrounding areas. I’m proud to have received five-star ratings from every guest, thanks to my love of people and passion for creating unforgettable travel experiences. Born in Tokyo near the famous Asakusa district and now living in Yokohama, I know the Tokyo and Kanagawa areas inside and out. Whether you're looking for iconic landmarks or hidden gems, I’ll tailor the tour to your interests and pace. Before becoming a guide, I was the CEO of an internet company working with businesses around the world. I’ve also traveled extensively, so I understand international cultures and enjoy comparing them with Japanese traditions to help you gain deeper insight. I studied in the U.S. as a graduate student at UCLA and Stanford, so I speak fluent American English and can explain Japan in a way that makes sense to you. From popular spots like Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, Ueno, Yanaka, and Odaiba to hidden temples off the beaten path, I’ll help you discover both the highlights and secrets of Tokyo. I typically use public transportation (train and subway), but we can take taxis if you prefer not to walk. If your destination is hard to reach by train, I may be able to drive my minivan—please inquire about availability and cost. Looking forward to meeting you and exploring Tokyo together! I will choose the best places, depending on season, weather and your preferences. For first time visitors, I will make sure that you see Great Buddha of Kotokuin, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, and Kannon statue in Hasedera Temple. For architecture enthusiasts, I will spend much time visiting ancient temples and shrines, Engakuji, Kenchoji, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. For those who would like to spend time in fancy shops and authentic restaurants, I will plan to have time on Komachi Street. For nature lovers, I will take you to the magnificent bamboo forest in Hotokuji. Or I can even take you to hiking in mountain side, walking down to the Great Buddha. In order to choose the best route for you, please contact me beforehand. We use public transportations, such as trains and busses. If you are not willing to walk, we take taxis.
