Hello! Konnichiwa! My name is Sachiko. I am a government licensed tour guide living in Sayama city near Tokyo and would love to show you all over my home country Japan. From the ever-popular tourist hot spots like Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, to the more unusual and rather unique local sites like Golden Gai in Shinjuku. Let me share personalized stories with you that will enhance your understanding of Japanese culture and its long history. I am a quite experienced tour guide. I have delivered tours for more than 1, 200 travel days since I received my license in 2006. I can create detailed customized tours, from single participant to large groups of 40 people. I will also be able to arrange a car, a van or a bus for your convenient transportation. I can build from a half day tour to a 2-week tour which is called "the golden route tour of Japan" . Please tell me all about your interests and the kind of places you would like to see. I am proud of my flexibility with scheduling to meet all of your needs, helping to make the most of your valuable time here. Before becoming a tour guide, I operated a language school in my place of residence for more than 15 years. I like to cook, visit art museums and do Japanese calligraphy. I also like to travel around the world and had great fun in many places which I visited. Because of my experience in intercultural business and my hobbies, I believe that I can meet all of your travel needs. I always enjoy meeting people and making new friends. Let's travel together! In this day trip, we will visit the ancient city of Kamakura. It is only a short one hour train ride from central Tokyo. Kamakura, one of the oldest political centers of Japan, flourished in the 12th century as the first Samurai government in this nation. I believe that people are still fascinated with the atmosphere and its historical sights such as Hase Kannon Temple, the Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, etc. My favorite place to take you to is a Zen temple called Hokokuji. It is a special place where we can feel "samurai culture" - simple, courageous, and humble - in tranquil silence. You will be able to have a cup of a thick powdered green tea called "Maccha" while looking at the beautiful bamboo garden. The amazing bamboo garden of this temple never betrays your expectation. Zen Buddhism was introduced to Japan during Kamakura Era(1185- 1333) and became very popular among samurai. You will be able to feel the spirit of this traditional culture in Kamakura.
