Kamakura, located 60km west from Tokyo, is an idealistic destination for one day tour. About one hour from the central Tokyo by train or by car you can reach the first samurai government site from 12th to 14th century, which features old Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and beautiful Japanese gardens. With hills and forests at the back and a beautiful long beach at the front, Kamakura attracts people all year round. The Great Buddha? A Bamboo Grove? I can arrange the tour to your preference. • 9:00 Meet at the hotel lobby • 10:30 Hase Temple: the eleven-headed statue of Kannon, a small traditional Japanese garden with a pond and various flowers blooming from season to season and a sea-viewing terrace • 11:30 The Great Buddha of Kotokuin Temple: the national treasure with about 12 m height cast in 13th century • 12:30 Lunch • 13:30 Hokokuji Temple: Having mattchia tea in the refined and tranquil atmosphere of bamboo grove, a rock garden and a series of shallow caves carved into the hillsides • 14:30 Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine: constructed in the medieval age with multiple torii gates along the way • 15:30 Komachi-dori Street: lined with old stores, souvenir shops, and Japanese restaurants • 17:30 End of the tour at any place you like *Lunch will be arranged according to your request.
