Kamakura is a historical city in the Kanagawa prefecture, which is known as "the Kyoto of Kanto region". It's a very popular tourist destination that attracts both locals and travellers due to presenting more than 100 temples and shrines. This tour will give you the opportunity to enjoy Japanese history and culture in Kamakura, visiting the historical place where the legendary Japanese Samurai emerged. Among the highlights to experience are a panoramic viewpoint in a mountain where a temple is located, where the ground has a large variety of blooming flowers. Another one will be seeing the bronze statue of a Buddha from the 12th century. As a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter, I will be able to tell you the story behind why it was constructed. I will be glad to see you and guide you in Kamakura city. Bare in mind the order of the stops listed below can be arranged at your preference.
·We'll start by meeting at your hotel or another place of your choice (I'd recommend starting our tour at 8:30 am to best enjoy the ancient city, Kamakura which takes around an hour to reach). -We will then leave Tokyo by train (there's one every 5 to 15 mins) and arrive at Kamakura, where we'll see the following places: ·The Great Buddha (a bronze statue of Amida Buddha). ·Hesedera temple, located on a mountain named "Kannon-zan". Here, we'll be able to enjoy the scenery from the observation deck on the upper ground. ·The Hokokuji temple, next to where we could have a cup of matcha tea in a small tea house while appreciating views into the bamboo grove, which the temple is known for. ·Komachi dori street, a perfect place to walk around and spend some time before or after exploring temples and other historical monuments in Kamakura. ·We'll then go back to Tokyo for the end of our tour.
