Hello, I am Masaharu, the national licensed English speaking tour guide. I was born and brought up in the suburb of Tokyo. After graduating from the university, I worked for a Japanese global logistics company where I had wonderful chances to stay overseas as an expatriate. I have a eighteen year old black & white cat named Jelly who was born and brought up in London. I brought him back to Japan. He took such a long journey with me all the way from London to Japan. He takes great delight in Japanese cuisine such as fresh tuna. Japan is a the pet friendly country. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our tour with Masa! His English is impeccable; he’s very knowledgeable about the city, and the country. Masa showed us how to navigate the subway system, toured us through two lively food markets, worked in a little lesson on the Japanese language, and what several of the characters mean, and gave thoughtful advice. We had an amazing day in Tokyo with our guide, Masaharu Nozawa. It felt like spending time with an old friend who knew the city inside out. He picked us up at our hotel, and we explored the city efficiently using the subway, walking through the lively Tsukiji fish market area, and discovering hidden gems along the side streets. Masaharu’s local insights made the experience extra special. We also enjoyed the best sushi we’ve ever had at a nearby local restaurant. Meet you at your hotel or Tsukiji area at 10:00 and visit: -Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, the landmark of Tsukiji and the most prestigious temple in Tokyo. -Tsukiji outer fish market, opening almost everyday, which is filled with over 400 shops and restaurants including traditional kitchen knife shops and lots of fabulous sushi restaurants. -Ueno Ameyoko shopping streets (very traditional shopping street filled with about 400 shops selling wide variety of items ranging from fresh raw fish, food to daily necessities.

1. We mainly use public transportation such as subways or JR trains. 2. I can also arrange a car-hire service upon your request. (Explanation) Basically, you need to buy the tickets with cash when taking trains. Credit card is not acceptable for short distance transportation in Greater Tokyo, while credit card is acceptable for bullet trains or other long distance super express train tickets. IC transportation card including "SUICA" or "PASMO" is highly recommended to purchase. It is obtainable online. You can also buy SUICA (named "Welcome SUICA") at Haneda and Narita Airport railway stations. The card is convenient to travel around Tokyo as you do not need to buy different tickets each time. If you want me to arrange a car-hire service with driver, please request me as early as possible especially in busy seasons, since many people use the service.
