My name is Satoko. I have a very distinct family lineage, with my mother's side dating back to the ancient Samurai. My grandmother was a true master of traditional Japanese practices such as kimono, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and playing the koto. My father's side also ran a successful Japanese restaurant. Growing up in these traditional surroundings has developed a burning passion for all things Japanese; the culture, spirit, food, nature, and aesthetic sense - all of which make me excited! Japan is a country with many unique and mysterious aspects - its culture, customs, and language can even be difficult for the natives to grasp let alone foreigners. My mission is to demystify Japan and educate all those interested by exposing the real side of my country and by sharing knowledge that goes beyond guidebooks, YouTube, or Wikipedia. We had a great tour with Sotoko. She is very conscientious and planned a tour that was very interesting, informative and fun for both myself daughter and myself. We were able to see many sights and neighborhoods in Tokyo we would have otherwise missed as well as trying a variety of foods. Sotoko is kind and knowledgeable and it was a delightful experience to be with her on this tour. My daughter and I would both highly recommend this tour.

This tour was lots of fun and we got to see places in Tokyo we wouldn’t have otherwise ventured to. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely enthusiastic and we left with a very positive impression!
Satoko was a delightful guide. We hired a driver for the tour and that allowed us to see multiple sights with amazing efficiency. She provided lots of history, fun facts that we would never know, and sights that we would never have found on our own. It was a great day!!! Highly recommended!!
The tour by Satoko was excellent. Her command of English was great...but, more importantly, was her knowledge of the neighborhoods that we visited. The main focus of the day was Shibamata, the home of Tora-san, a famous Japanese actor and comedian in the 50's and 60's. Satoko took us to street that reminded us of a time gone, and we snacked on some of the special treats of the era. Then we went to an old shopping street in Tateishi, where she invited us to relax in the heat of the day with a fav coffee.
We could not imagine exploring Tokyo without Satoko! The Tokyo Satoko showed us was fabulous and a bit off the radar, which we had requested. She planned itineraries to match our interests and we had an excellent time with her. Her English language skills are impressive. Meeting her was a real highlight for us.
