Konnichiwa! I am Gulay, a professional guide with a deep love for photography, art, and discovering the hidden spirit of Tokyo beyond the typical tourist experience. I have been working as a professional guide since 2008, and have received my training at the Department of Tourism Guidance. I moved to Spain for one year (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and worked as a volunteer and mentor in EVS organizations(European Voluntary Service) But then my interest in Japanese culture led me to my current carrier in Tokyo for 8 years. Gulay is a wonderful tour guide and a wonderful person. She is thoughtful, informative and fun. She is a wealth of knowledge and always interesting. She gave us great recommendations in a city that is so huge, it’s hard to know where to start. The intimidation of a large city as lessened considerably with Gulay’s direction. So glad me met her. Follow her instructions, she knows what she’s talking about, has great taste and knows where the “inside” places to go are.
Scheduling a tour with Gulay was the best thing I could have scheduled to help us navigate Tokyo. Not only was she super friendly but she also explained so much about the history and culture of the different areas of the city. She went above and beyond to provide insight and recommendations for us which was wonderful. Following our tour with her, we went from being slightly overwhelmed at understanding the transpirations systems to feeling confident in just wandering around. Cannot recommend her highly enough!
We met Gulay on our first full day in Japan, and I would highly recommend her tour as early into your trip as possible! Gulay was friendly and incredibly knowledgable about the areas we toured and even the one's we had planned to visit later in our trip. She helped us to navigate public transit, understand historical and current facts of the areas we visited, and overall set us up for success for our two-week trip in Japan. Thank you Gulay!
So thankful for Gulay!!! She taught us the basics of the subway and train system and it was so helpful. I also appreciated that she gave us some really fascinating history about the places we stopped at. And it actually encouraged us to change some of our plans to see more of her suggestions! We were all a little jet lagged and she maintained her excitement even though some of us were sleepy babies haha. Great tour!!
Peaches did an excellent job. I picked this tour to experience the Railroad Market. She knows her subject matter and positioned us to have a great experience on the train. This was an A+++ tour. She speaks excellent English. You will not regret your choice.
