Ancient Rome in a day: VIP Shore Excursion

Without question, Valentina was the best tour guide we have ever worked with. Her knowledge of the sites we visited was extremely detailed, and it was clear that archeology is her passion. Beyond the technical details that she clearly demonstrated, she was such an engaging person; she has a very welcoming and friendly personality. She kept our interest level high as we moved through the tour, and she was willing to make adjustments to fit the pace of our group. She was eager for us to ask questions which she answered very well. We had an absolutely fabulous day with Valentina. The whole day was wonderful, but the Colosseum tour was the trip favorite for most of the family. My husband loved Paletine Hill. Valentia's expertise as an archaeologist who has actually worked on the locations we visited was invaluable. Her insights were interesting for the whole family. She did a fantastic job setting the scene for the day with her background information about life in Rome throughout the ages. It really help us understand what we were looking at. Valentina was very understanding when people needed water or snacks and took us to a delicious restaurant for lunch. She was very helpful throughout the day and even recommended dining locations prior to our visit. Can not recommend enough! Valentina made out trip to Rome.

Valentina was absolutely phenomenal. I am limited by space, but she was enthusiastic, friendly and kind. She took us exactly where we wanted to go plus so much more. We love history and she delivered. I wish we could leave 10 stars for her! It was a tremendous experience that included all kinds of history, from the early Republic, to the empire time up to the medieval times and World War 2! In addition, we told her we wanted an authentic italian lunch. She did not disappoint. She booked us with a restaurant that had no tourists, but you could tell they were all locals (by how they dressed compared to us). Not only did Valentina operate as a professional, awesome tour guide, but she became our friend. If we lived near her we all felt we would have her over to our house. She was always in touch with us and kept us abreast of where and when we needed to be places. Fantastico!

This tour was like being picked up from the train station by your favorite college friend and being shown something spectacular that are so passionate about that it makes you want to be passionate about it too. We learned more on this tour than I would’ve have in an entire semester of studying Roman history. It was so fun and the food was amazing. We never could have seen this much or enjoyed ourselves this much on our own.
