I started working in the world of tourism by chance and this profession immediately became my passion: what could be better than to show the world you live in, with the enthusiasm and pride it deserves, to do the honors and make the visitor's stay special and unforgettable? I am a tour guide, a tour leader and also an environmental hiking guide in German and English and I live halfway between the sea and the mountain and by mountain I mean THE ultimate one: Mount Etna. It is the highest active volcano in Europe that dominates the sea and also faces the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, nowadays also known as the town of "The White Lotus Hotel", the beautiful Taormina. This union is then magically combined with the artistic wonders that surround us and that offer ever-new insights for experiential and niche tours, always appreciated worldwide. I studied history, art, archeology and geology and I usually guide along the eastern coastline of Sicily, from Messina until Catania. In addition to the "classic itineraries" I can organise different activities like paddleboarding tours along the coastline of Taormina, mountain bike tours, cooking class and street food tours, wine tasting, trekking excursions, off road excursions in jeep and, last but not least, ascending tours up to 3000 meters on Mount Etna, on board of big 4x4 vehicles. My audience is diverse: from groups to individuals, from students to trekking and mountain biking enthusiasts. At the end of each tour I return home happy, because it feels as if I have been out with friends who each time appreciate the enthusiasm, joy and helpfulness that we Sicilians know how to offer to those who visit us. Overview of your Messina tour
What's better than visit such an incredible place with a guide who grew up feelling the strenght of the highest active volcano in Europe? Mount Etna is my home, I wouldn't live anywhere else, I know every trail, every detail of this magical mountain, a mix of power and peace, an unforgettable experience you have to make if you come here. The northern slope of Etna is for sure the most authentic and most exclusive. Unlike the southern side, a mass tourism destination, here there are no crowds at all. From here you will reach the highest and the largest view point (2900 m. asl) and you will almost "touch" the summit craters. A wine tasting lunch in a winery will end this unique tour. Details of the route: Total kilometers (round-trip): 25 km (it may vary) Difficulty: EASY (A hike that is generally suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Mostly level or with a slight slope) THIS EXCURSION IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BLOOD PRESSURE OR HEART PROBLEMS OR THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM ASTHMA.
Your Messina tour itinerary
- 8:00 am I will pick you up from the pier/hotel and we will travel to Piano Provenzana Station at 1900m. - 10:30 departure from Piano Provenzana Station Etna North (1900 m. ) up to 2900 m in a big 4x4 vehicle. We will reach a high mountain slope framed by magnificent views of lava and volcanic sand along the rift created in the 2002 eruption. Here, we will walk on the edge of the craters of 2002 and see how a volcano is created. - Continuing our excursion with our off-road vehicles to an altitude of 2900 meters the North-East crater (where the volcano observatory is located), dominates the area together with the South-East crater. We will almost touch the summit craters. - 1:30 pm back to Piano Provenzana Station. - 2:30 pm we will reach a beautiful winery on Etna North. Lunch and wine tasting in the winery (not included in the tour price). - 5:00/6:00 pm back to the pier/hotel Please note this tour can be customized.
