After graduation I worked on wildlife projects with the University of Catania always striving to combine my professional career with my true passion, show my beautiful and beloved country to all people who came here and sought authentic and local experience of Sicily and Catania. So It's very complicated for me to tell you what's my favorite tour, cause all of theme are very unique. My tours stimulate all the senses, from the sight of natural and landscape beauties to the flavors and smells of cities and countryside. My land is rich of stories dating back from the distant mists of time and due to the different dominations that took place in different stages of our journey through time. So what else can I say? We will pass through idyllic Sicilian villages and some of the most famous wine regions of Sicily and, as we climb in altitude, you will learn a lot about our volcano, the people and their culture. We will certainly remember the impressive play of colors of the black lava and the extraordinary vegetation of Etna. With our comfortable vehicles we will arrive at 2000 m asl. Here we will take the cable car and/or Unimog (off-road buses) to get to the base of the summit craters at 3000m asl (10000 feet). After visiting the summit area we will take a nice hike on the extinct craters, you will see the unique landscape with the old and new lava flows. Like speleologists, you will be equipped with helmets and flashlights to explore on foot one of the famous lava caves after the hike. After a stop for lunch in the area we will come back to the port of Messina.
We had a tour : 4 Adults (1 diasabled), 3 kids to mount Etna ( 7 ppl total) Roberto was the perfect guide: He came on time and gave a clear meeting point. Gave a lot of information on what were seeing. Good English that was easy to understand. Had lots of patiance to the special needs and pace of the people on our group. Created a good atmosphire throught the day. I recomend booking a tour with him :)
We enjoyed the tour of the “godfather” village and ate some great pizza at a place Roberto brought us to . We were a group of 11 who had to go into 2 different cars , but it worked out when a member of our party had to return early . Roberto was quick to respond and helped coordinate the other car to leave early. We stopped at Taormina for shopping and lunch. It was beautiful
