Taormina and Godfather's Private Tour from the port

We will explore the pretty resort town of Taormina, claimed by many to be the most beautiful place in Sicily. This walking tour provides a leisurely yet insightful sense of my land, its sculpture, history, famous visitors and charming atmosphere. The tour covers all of the major sights of the city, but I will show you also my favorite places in town, little corners out of the most known touristic area. Time for a stroll in Corso Umberto (the main street), a huge array of jewelers, lace and craft shops, designer boutiques and souvenir stalls, time for testing the Sicilian food in some of my favorite shops. In the second part of the day will drive to Savoca one of the Godfather's locations to enjoy the tranquility of the old villages, the historical events and especially the places where Francis Ford Coppola was able to capture the events of the Mafia in his famous movie.

- Meet you at the port exit gate. Drive through the motorway to the town of Taormina. - Then we will start the visit of the monuments along the main street Corso Umberto, the Palazzo Corvaja, the Odeon; the enchanting Greek Roman Theatre, the main squares and the most beautiful views. - we will enjoy the narrow enchanting streets in town, amazing photos can be taken during our walk, before we end with the southern part of the town close to the cathedral and Porta Catania near by the Jewish section. - time for a local food and drinks tasting (connolo, granita, arancini or a light local lunch - In the second part of the day, by car we drive along the coast, we reach the village of Savoca, in a charming position on a saddle between two hills. - In an old house of the village is the Vitelli Bar, with a collection of photographs taken when Francis F. Coppola shot some scenes of the Godfather, a nice walk to visit the churches and the amazing narrow streets with its incredible views - Drive back to the port
