Hello! My name is Cristina and I'm a well - experienced tour guide since 2000, and besides, I am a tour leader since 2004. I use to take groups all around my wonderful island. I live in Lipari, the largest of the seven Aeolian islands in the north-eastern Sicily. I like travelling and I'm a trekking lover. I have a degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Messina, I speak English and French very well but I also speak Spanish fluently. From 2015 to 2021, I've been the president of the Association of Tourist guides called "Guide Turistiche Eolie Messina Taormina". I really enjoy doing my job and the advantage of it is changing itineraries every day: one day can be a guided tour of Lipari, so the typical magic condition of a little island or the day after, the fascinating environment of a visit to Mount Etna, the big volcano. Sicily is rich in archaeological sites, wonderful churches, small villages to discover or cities with an enormous artistic heritage. I enjoy illustrating the treasures of my region to anyone who decides to visit it. Not only history and monuments but also traditions, gastronomy and everyday life. Cristina showed us a great time on our walking tour right from the cruise terminal. So much history in Messina and Cristina was eager to share it with us. I hope we have the opportunity to tour with her again and venture outside the city next time.

The tour starts from the agreed place in Messina. We'll walk around the main square of the city, the Duomo square and we'll see and visit: - The Duomo, that is the main church of the city with its magnificent works of art and one of the biggest organ in Italy; - The City Hall and its square that tell us about the story of the city; - The view over the Strait of Messina; - The outside of the 11th century church of the Catalans; - The monument dedicated to Don Juan of Austria; - Cairoli square: the modern part of the city, with its little cafès and shops. We won't miss the show of the bell tower's statues. One of the biggest mechanical and astronomical clock in the world.
