My family and I absolutely loved this tour and our guide, Salvina!! She was such an absolute pleasure! She was very knowledgeable and extremely personable. She had such great energy! She was so great with my two small children (ages 3 and 2) and always watching out for my mom who is 87 and was having some knee issues. I only wish we had more time in port to enjoy this stop but the tour was a good mix of enjoying one of nature’s greatest marvels and seeing the town of Taormina which was beautiful. The key was definitely our guide and I would recommend Salvina to anyone traveling to Sicily!
Salvina was great! Very knowledgeable, flexible and timely. Her English was excellent. She customized the tour as we went along to do what our group wanted to do. Mt Etna was very interesting to see and learn about. Taormina was absolutely beautiful.
Salvina was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable about Mt. Etna and Taormina. She provided excellent reservations. Importantly, we had our 5 and 7 year old on the tour and she was incredibly warm and friendly with the kids. I highly recommend using Salvina.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. I was in Messina for the day with my family and was lucky enough to have Salvina as our guide. It probably goes without saying that she is fantastic. Everything was seamless from the pickup in the port to the return to our ship. We started with a rainy day, so, Salvina tailored the tour to maximize what we saw and minimize our time in the bad weather. When all was said and done, my kids said it was their favorite port and their favorite tour of the trip.
Excellent tour...Salvina did a wonderful job with this tour and advised us appropriately based on what we wanted from the tour. We ended up in Taormina early, which was a less crowded time, then went on to Mt. Etna, and it worked out perfectly. One of the best tours we enjoyed on our trip.
• Departing from the port or your hotel, we will drive by the motorway to Mt Etna via a scenic route, passing and stopping by some villages, a look to memorable landscape of orchards, vineyards, woods, hardened lava flows and volcanic cones. • We will have time for photo stops and a tasting of local products, reaching Rifugio Sapienza at 6, 400ft. We will visit the extinct Silvestri Craters, and see the last important 2002 lava flows. • Free time for photos and coffee before we drive to Taormina. • 1 hour drive and we will explore the pretty resort town of Taormina. This walking tour provides a leisurely yet insightful sense of Taormina, its sculpture, history, famous visitors and charming atmosphere. • We will cover all the major sights of the city: The ruins of the Roman age, the Greek/Roman theatre, Corso Umberto with all is beautiful shops, squares, churches. • It is possible to have a lunch break and free time on your on.
