We had a wonderful afternoon with Salvina! She and a driver met us in Taormina and we drove to Savoca and then Forza d’Agro to explore the film locations for the Godfather movies. But we talked about so much more!! History, religion, culture - she made us feel like a family member. It was a fun afternoon. Highly recommend!!

• Leaving the hotel / port, we will take the highway for the trip to Savoca, the 19th century village located in a charming position on a saddle between two hills. • In an old house at the entrance of the village is the Vitelli Bar, with a collection of photographs taken when Francis F. Coppola shot some scenes of the Godfather. Stop for a refreshing lemon granita with zibibbo wine. • Then we will walk to the church of S. Nicola di Bari, usually known as S. Lucia, that appears in the Godfather I. • After this we leave Savoca, the next visit will be in Forza d'Agrò, a small and charming medieval village that dominates the Norman Arabic castle of Capo Sant'Alessio and the Ionian coast towards Messina and the Strait of Messina. • From the square, a narrow typical road leads to the Chiesa Madre (main church) portrayed over and over by Francis Ford Coppola in his Godfathers.
