Today I will take you to this fantastic place: Mt Etna, my favorite mountain! I'm sure its energy, vitality, strength and my personal knowledge about it will fascinate you, as I have 20 years of experience as a guide! The extraordinary old eruptions have created a spectacular environment. Moon landscape, forests, cultivations, human activity, history and more. It will be nice to take a look at the villages, feel the timeless life of the local inhabitants, I will show you my favorite shops to taste the local food to delight your palate. You will really enjoy as I do, one of my favorite winery, a light lunch, perfumes of the Etna wines and the delicious food. The winery surrounded by grapes cultivations represents today one of the most exciting attraction of Mt. Etna. Everyone says that I am a sunny and joyful person, so I hope my optimism is part of your journey!
Your Messina tour itinerary
• Departing from the port exit gate of your arrival or your hotel, we will have a drive to the town of Giarre by the freeway. • From Giarre the tour continues towards Mt. Etna, via a scenic route, passing the villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana Etnea as well as a memorable landscape of orchards, vineyards, woods, hardened lava flows and volcanic cones. • We will take some photo stops and a tasting of local products reaching Rifugio Sapienza at 6, 400ft/2000mt. • You will visit the Silvestri Craters, formed during the eruption of 1892, and see the 1983 and 2002 lava flows. • Free time for photos and a coffee break before we drive to one of the winery of Mt Etna, a nice time dedicated to visit the winery, the visit of the cellar includes the explanation of the local grapes and the method of vinification. • Then a tasting of different wines and a light lunch of local food will follow. *IF YOU NEED TO CUSTOMIZED OR CHANGE SOMETHING PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.
