If you want to have your personal tour guide in Florence because you are you tired of big groups and lightening visits, this is what you are looking for! I provide extremely high quality, yet fun and informal, fully guided tours of Florence, designed for small, independent and open-minded travelers. I will be happy to introduce you to the real Florentine culture. You will have a personal tour guide of Florence at your disposal to discover all the secrets of the city: history, curiosities, art and food. Through your private tour you will get to know all the main historical buildings and the museums, as well as the streets, the squares and the markets. All will be showed to you adding amusing and curious anecdotes about Florence history. I give different types of tours and my services are always taylor-made: it's not the same thing giving a tour to a family with children, a group of friends or a couple of honey-mooners! With the Classic tour of Florence, we will visit the top sites, such as the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce Square. Moreover, I offer thematic tours, such as the Medici Grand Tour, a full immersion in the story of the most famous banking family of Florence. I am also specialized in the historical tours, like the medieval tour of Florence, focused on tower houses, religious orders and the real medieval house of Florence, Palazzo Davanzati. One of my favorite ones is a funny city tour with a special emphasis on food and wine: this is the Wine and Street Food Tour of Florence, to figure out what to order for breakfast at an Italian bar or where to find the best gelato spots in town. I love to give tours to the youngest ones, so if you have children in your party it will be exciting to discover the city with them. During my career as tour guide I got a specialization on tours for the visually impaired. Touring Florence is possible! You just need the right person to help you. I use high-releaf models, tactile reproductions and above all my comunication skills. Human relations always make the difference! If you wish to have further information on a particular subject or aspect you just have to ask: we will organize together a different tour, completely customized for you. Hello there! I'll introduce myself, my name is Francesca, I was born 33 years ago in this beautiful city, Florence, and I have been a qualified tourist guide of Florence since 2008 (time flies..!). After getting a degree in Modern Cultures and Languages at the University of Florence and completing my studies in Spain at the Universidad de Valladolid, studying English-Spanish code switching, I had several experiences in the field of diplomatic institutions, international trade and, eventually, I approached the tourism business, working on cruise ships at hotel department. Once I decided that the time of restless travelling was over, I thought that becoming a tour guide of Florence was the best opportunity to share my passion for my home town. Guiding is my full time job, my certification was issued in 2008 by the Italian Government. In the mean time, I came back to College to get a History Degree and I'm learning Hebrew language. I am self-employed tourist guide, not a tour operator. I am not a driver and in Italy you need a special licence to transport people in your own vehicle.

Overview of your Florence tour

Uffizi Gallery is a big and intense museum, where it might be easy to loose your bearings if you don't have an expert who helps you focusing on the main aspects, in order to take the most advantage of your time. And I'm that expert! I have to say that in this museum, I literally feel like at home! I love sharing with my guests my perspective about art and its development from Middle Ages to Renaissance. Symbols, curiosities, techniques, social life, economy: it's everything intertwined in this amazing art collection. How was the Renaissance fashion? Which colors did medieval painters use? Which is the message hidden in Botticelli's paintings? How much was the price of a Michelangelo's artwork? You'll find it out during this Uffizi Gallery private tour! And if there are children in the party, it will be funny to search for details in the paintings! I love to listen to the point of view of the little ones, there's so much to learn from kids!

My teenage daughter and I spent a fantastic morning with Francesca at the Uffizi. Francesca shared her incredible knowledge of the vast works with us in a very engaging manner. Of course, we saw the big stars of the museum, but we learned so much about lesser known works too. Francesca was super entertaining and taught us some fun Italian terms. We highly recommend Francesca--you will love her energy and her love for the arts, books, secret legends, etc. Five stars--highly recommend. Thank you, Francesca!

Our tour guide Francesca was exceptional and knowledgeable. She took us through highlights of Uffizi gallery and gave us lots of tidbits about history of Florence and local information such as places to eat and shop. She even made sure we were back in line for our admission to Accademia gallery and went the extra mile to get us there on time. Everyone loved it including my husband and children.

Franscesca is an excellent, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable tour guide. It felt extremely safe, even in the days of coronavirus, as we all wore masks, and Franscesca had a microphone and gave us earpieces, so we could fully hear. Her knowledge of art history and the history of Florence is superb and given there were so few people visiting the Uffizi when we went, it felt like having the gallery to ourselves but with our own personal guide. It was so good we booked another tour with her.

Francesca was awesome. We were lucky to be with her for 7 hours over two days. Absolutely no regrets. Very knowledgeable, sweet, and proud of Firenze and its history. She tied the historical aspects of different areas together including art works, artisans, the Medici, buildings, and architecture. I did this trip with my sister and I intend to schedule around Francesca's availability when I return with my wife in two years. Also, being there in January was wonderful. No lines!!!

Your Florence tour itinerary

The Uffizi Gallery is one of the oldest museums in the world! Today this gallery displays one of the greatest collections of paintings from the XIII to the XVI century. These are some of the highlights we will see together: -Grotesque ceilings and collection of Roman statues. -Giotto's Madonna and medieval painting: why are they all plane? -Paolo Uccello's Battle of S. Romano: the birth of geometrical perspective. What is the vanishing point? -Piero della Francesca's Duke of Urbino: Renaissance fashion and strange hair style. -Botticelli's Primavera and Birth of Venus: the ideal of Beauty and the love for Nature. -Leonardo's Annunciation: studying flight and aerial perspective (Ive called my son Gabriele after this painting!). -Michelangelo's Doni Tondo: recovering Classical Antiquity (and don't mess up with Michelangelo!). -Raphael's Madonna: personal branding of an artist. -Caravaggio's Medusa: a tormented genius. If you have any special interests or wishes, I will be happy to customise this tour for you!
