Ciao everybody! My name is Veronica and I'm from Florence. I've been a tour guide since 2008 and the goal of my tours is to offer you not only an artistic and historical overview of Florence, but an immersive visit into the typical aspects of the Italian life and culture. I used to live and work abroad: first as a student at UEA (University of East Anglia) in Norwich (UK), then as an apprentice in contemporary art galleries in Sevilla (Spain) and finally as a teacher of Italian and History of Art at Marist College in Poughkeepsie (New York). I have also worked as a Tour Leader around the world: USA, Africa, Russia and Europe. In short, I love travelling and whenever possible I leave my hometown to explore different countries and cultures. I'm an art historian. I love art as I think artworks tell stories and through those stories we can understand history. I'll show you the monuments of Florence not just in terms of style and beauty, but disclosing the social and historical context in which they were conceived and unveil the tales they hide. As a local, I'll also take you to my favorite places and to some of the artisan workshops who make Florence unique. Another passion of mine is wine. That's why I've become a certified sommelier. I believe that wine represents a very important part of Italian traditions. Behind a glass of wine you can discover history, nature, landscapes and lives of people. If you share my passion, I'll be more than happy to arrange for you a wine tasting in Florence! Recently I've been trained in accessible tourism for visually and mobility impaired people. So, let me know if you have specific needs. We can design together a trip that fits you. Btw, all my tours are customizable according to your requests and interests. I hope to see you soon in Florence! 2002 Degree in History of Art 2003 Master in Museum management 2007 Certificate as teacher of Italian as a second language 2008 Tour guide license of Florence 2019 Sommelier certificate I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Botticelli, Leonardo and Michelangelo are the best known Renaissance artists, but many other great figures lived and worked in Florence at that time. Why so many geniuses headed here in the same historical period? Why was Florence the cradle of Renaissance? Why was it one of the biggest and richest cities between XIII and XV centuries? We will answer this and more, while exploring the streets of Florence. From the religious center, to the center of the political power, we'll get to know the Medici family and all the great art works and monuments they commissioned. Stepping through less crowded parts of the city, we'll learn Florence also played a crucial role in the foundation of the modern banking system. In the meantime, we'll stop by and meet some local artisans who have run their workshops for generations and still make everything by hand. Join me and enjoy my magical city! You will not regret it.
