Siena and San Gimignano with private driver - Full day tour from Florence

Exceptional, authentic guide with deep roots in Siena Kathleen was fantastic and one of the highlights of our time in Tuscany. She is incredibly knowledgeable, but what made the experience truly special was how naturally she brought the cities to life. She took us beyond the main sights and into quieter streets and corners that we never would have discovered on our own, which made both San Gimignano and Siena feel authentic and personal rather than simply places to visit. As a native of Siena, her connection to the city added a depth and perspective that cannot be replicated. She is a member of the Snail (Chiocciola) contrada, and her firsthand understanding of the rivalries, traditions, and neighborhood identity made the history of Siena feel immediate and real. Her personal connection to the city gave us insights that would be impossible to gain otherwise. She also arranged an excellent driver, and the logistics were seamless. The vehicle was comfortable, the pacing was perfect, and the entire day felt relaxed and effortless. Beyond her knowledge, Kathleen was truly delightful to spend time with — warm, engaging, and easy to interact with. We would absolutely work with her again and recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking a deeper and more meaningful experience in Tuscany.

Kathleen was a fantastic tour guide!!!!!!!! Very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the areas we visited. She also arranged an excellent lunch for us, and the driver was pleasant. The entire day was great; we could not recommend her enough.

Our family of four travelled to Siena and San Gimignano with Kathleen as the guide. She is bubbly and knowledgeable, communicates well and shares great local cafes and restaurants with us. The logistics arrangements was done perfectly. We enjoyed the trip!

This is a great and very well organized tour by Kathleen, who is very friendly, very proficient in English, and very knowledgeable in Siena as a life-long and current resident. I learned so much about the Siena Cathedral, Baptistry and the Palio race than I could have ever gotten on my own. And San Gimignano is a wonderful medieval town with its towers, which again was made much more enjoyable and worthwhile through Kathleen’s expert commentary. And, she was gracious enough in Siena to go to a different location than the planned meeting place due to my error without complaint at all. And Andrea was a great and friendly driver for my tour as well. If you only can devote a half day to these great locations, this is the tour for you! Otherwise, I am sure that Kathleen’s specific Siena tours are even more informative and worthwhile!

This was, indeed, the highpoint of our tour to Italy. We saw things we never would have known to look for on our own, and the pace and scope of the tour was perfect for us.

Kathleen was fantastico. Communication before the tour was timely and thorough. The meeting time was punctual and the planned itinerary was thoughtful and complete. Kathleen was extremely knowledgeable and genuine in her sharing of the stories of Siena and its people and her own experience. A special treat was provided to allow me to visit the museum and the church and some of the community of the Tartaruga (turtle) contrade. We then visited the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and all the time listened to Kathleen’s wonderful explanations. Beautiful lunch organized at a local eatery before going to San Gimingnano which was equally picturesque Tuscan town with centuries of history. Kathleen is an outstanding guide and left me with lifelong memories of Tuscany.
