Food & Wine Walking Tour in Florence, Italy

This was a wonderful tour. The weather was rainy but she made sure we ate great food and stayed dry. For us its most important to take a tour like this as soon as we arrive. You learn some local history, places to eat and most important you have someone with extensive local knowledge that can answer many questions before vacation really gets started.

Wow! What a great morning! Christy is a wonderful hostess and a great guide. As a visitor to Florence I would've never gone to the places we visited - especially the fruit market and the wine shop. Having now been to those places I know what I would've missed. As a tour guide Christy has the advantage of being both Italian and American. As a hostess she has the charm and the local connections to immediately make us feel like family. A few tips from me: - If you have yet to do so install WhatsApp on your phone. It makes connecting easy. Even better if you send her a photo of yourself before the tour. We found each other immediately at the meeting point - Arrive hungry. That morning I limited my breakfast to coffee and I was happy to have done so. - Leave your lunch plans open ... you likely won't need a lunch - Wear comfortable walking shoes. That said ... I would guess that 1/2 to 2/3 of the tour was sitting, eating & drinking. This is an easy walking tour and not at all onerous. - Let Christy know in advance if you have any food allergies or restrictions. We had none. That said - if you have some it would be good for her to know in advance so as to plan the best tour for you. We were a group of 3 guests and had a spectacular time. Highly recommended.

Christy was fun and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to make this tour as close to perfect as I can imagine. The variety of items for me to try was great, family tradition weighed happily on each item and all of the offerings were yummy. Highly recommended!

Christy was such a pleasure! She was so knowledgeable and took us to places that are not too touristy. The food and drinks that we sampled were authentically local and so delicious! And we went back to the local shops and markets she took us to and did some amazing shopping! If you’ve never done a small group or private tour before, you need to, it’s the best way to explore new places!

Christy's familiarity with the local vendors and her passionate love for Italian culture and food was much appreciated. If you want to experience how the Florentines live and eat, this is the tour for you. I had been to the central market before, yet her relationships with the various vendors gave us a deeper understanding of the passion they have for their products. I collect hand forged knives and when I asked her if she knew anyone she showed us a terrific bladesmith (he makes the blades and his Dad makes the handles.) Thank you Christy for a wonderful tour.

Christy P.'s Food & Wine Walking Tour in Florence was terrific! She seems to know everyone in food and wine in the city. In the meat market she was teased by the butchers as the "Professor" because of the information she provides there in every one of her tours. We started off concerned that we wouldn't have enough to eat having skipped lunch for this 2:00 PM tour. Were we wrong! By the end, we had more than enough to eat plus wine and a gelato finish with information about Florence being given every step of the way. Christy was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour.
