Hi! I'm Francesco, I was born and raised in Florence where I lived most of my life. For the last half of my life I've been living in a house a little outside of Florence, in the Chianti area, the "Wine" area! Right after high school, I started working in the art business along with my father who has been an antiques dealer for over 30 years. I always loved art and always wanted to work with it and I think that growing up in a city like Florence with a father that has always taught me so much about art and history inspired me a lot. I've been working as an art dealer since 2012, loving it, and I'm still in that field. Thanks to that job I had the opportunity to travel a lot in my life, especially in the US where I've been many times. I also lived one year in Miami studying the english language and a few months in New York City. Since I always loved working with others, and most of all, the social interaction with people from different countries, I decided to throw myself in the tourist business and I became a tour guide. From that moment on I had wonderful experiences with so many different people from different countries. Considering that I've been a tourist myself many times in my life and I always loved and encouraged the idea of living the place instead of just visiting it, when I do tours I try to give an intimate view of the city, doing my best to let you experience everything from a real local perspective, sharing my love for this town and having also in mind that I see most of the places we'll be going through, as my home. . . the streets, my gym, my school, the bars. . . where I spent my youth and my life. So, if you are willing to explore the art, heritage, beauty and life of this town with a real local by your side, let's get in touch! Florence has so much to say also through its varieties of food and wine ! Let's discover together the most typical and local places where you can taste our food and our wine entering and living the real Florence and visiting also some of the best streets and areas with historical workshops (jewellery, paper marbling or leather. . ) During the walk you will have wonderful tastings of truffle, prosecco, Chianti wine, tuscan's ham and cheese and gelato! There will be also a visit in one of the best goldsmith workshops of Florence and other historical artisanal realities of this town. I grew up in this town through these streets and places and with me you will be able to see everything through the eyes of a florentine entering in a much deeper way the soul of Florence * If you have any allergies or you do not eat any specific kind of food (vegetarian, vegan, etc. . . ) just let me know and I'll make the best bespoke solution!
The tour will cover a big part of the historical center from Via Tornabuoni to Santa Croce and we are going to walk through some of the most significant places and streets of Florence: We'll see a couple of artisans throughout our tour depending on the day of the week, since some will be closed some days. (The blacksmith workshop will be closed on Sundays and Mondays, so those days the itinerary could go through a small variation) In between these places you will enjoy some really good tastings. Please remember this itinerary is flexible. I will be happy to customise the tour for you!
