Uffizi Masterpieces Half-day Tour with Art Historian

This tour was excellent! Of all the tours we took while in Florence for a week this is one of the best. Our guide Loradena showed many of the best pieces in the Gallery and explained not only the composition of each but also the religious, social and cultural context in which each was produced. Even our 20 -year old grandson who has little interest in art appreciated the tour and later discussed some of the key things pointed out by our guide. All in our group came away with a better appreciation for art. We would definitely recommend this tour!

Lore was one of the best tour guides I have ever experienced. I had to convince at least half of my tour of 8 to even participate before the tour, and afterwards everyone was spellbound. Her knowledge of the different periods of history as they relate to the art of the time, is exceptional. Lore is a master storyteller teaching and entertaining all from varied ages, education levels and interests. She was prompt, patient and passionate about her interests, and even shared directions. We had a wonderful tour of the Uffizi Gallery with Loredana Agosta. She has a perfect background for us--a native New Yorker with degrees in Art History who has made Florence her home for over 20 years. Loredana took us all through the Uffizi and explained in thorough and clearly understandable detail many of the masterpieces in the Gallery. It was a great tour that also included parts of central Florence on the way to the Uffizi. Loredana is a pleasure to be around, and has a breadth of knowledge of art and Florence that was very much appreciated.

What a wonderful insight to the history and workings of the Medici family through Art. Expertly explained and interesting stories told to give us a full understanding of the time when all these magnificent paintings were executed. Simply Brilliant! Loredana is very enthusiastic and an expert in her field.

The best tour!!Loredana has such vast knowledge of not only the artists, but also the political intrigue and economic issues of the time. This was a tour of art, history, economics and politics! And there is no better way to understand art. Loredana did an excellent job and three hours went by in a flash. would definitely recommend her to everyone!
