Hello! My name is Armando, I am an expert of Italian art, history, archeology and culture, and I have been working as an official tour guide for over twenty-five years. I am originally from Rome, I moved to Vinci, Tuscany a few years ago - birth place of the famous Leonardo da Vinci, 25 miles West of Florence -, and I am specialized in private tours of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Vinci and all of Tuscany. I provide my guests a great summary of some twenty centuries of history most cities boasts, telling them about art and archaeology, past and present, local culture and every day life, and how all is inextricably combined. I am not going to give you a lecture - unless you want to - I will be informative but I won't overdo with too many dates and names, I will make your visit fun with anecdotes and legends: I know you are here on holiday and your holiday is meant to be enjoyable and fun! Whether it is your first visit, second or third time in Florence and Tuscany, I will be happy to create a customized itinerary based upon your interests to make you experience a unique, relaxing vacation. Ciao! No restrictions at all!

Overview of your Florence tour

We'll start with a historical presentation from the foundation of Florentia as a Roman colony, up to its growth in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance as one of the most important capitals in Europe. I'll tell you about the many men and women who were protagonists of the greatness of Florence, such as the Medici for politics and economics, Michelangelo for art, Dante for literature, Galileo for the sciences. . . just to name a few among the most universally known. We'll visit the religious and political centers of Florence, the most important museums of the city including the Accademia and the Uffizi, where I'll tell you about artists who led the evolution of the Western art. I am not going to give you a lecture -unless you want to- I'll be informative but I won't overdo with too many dates and names; I'll make your visit fun with anecdotes and legends, and you'll have time to enjoy a typical local meal, coffee or ice cream: I know you are here on holiday and your holiday is meant to be enjoyable and fun!

I was a very, very happy tourist because this wonderful tour guide was amazing. So Knowledgeable, so easy going and in love with what he was explaining to me. He was amazing, not just reciting it by rote, but sincerely detailing what we were experiencing...because Florence and all it has to offer is an experience; it was a hot, long day but I didn't care! I didn't complain, I just soaked it all in and enjoyed it. I was very satisfied that day and for the rest of my trip to Florence. When I scheduled this tour, I was a bit shocked by the price, but it was worth every penny.

It was a long day but the tour guide was excellent. We saw all of the important sites in Florence. The guide had our timed entrances to various locations (Uffizi, Academia etc) set up perfectly. Highly recommend.

Your Florence tour itinerary

I'll meet you at your hotel/accommodation in Florence, or in Piazza Duomo, or in another agreed spot in Florence. - Duomo (inside; Cathedral) - Giotto Bell Tower (outside; beautiful Gothic architecture) -Opera del Duomo Museum (inside; with a Pieta by Michelangelo, and famous Ghiberti's bronze doors) - Baptistery (inside; with medieval mosaics) - Academy Gallery (inside; to see the David and other statues by Michelangelo) - San Lorenzo Church (inside; masterpiece of Renaissance architecture by Brunelleschi) - Uffizi Gallery (inside; paintings by Giotto, Masaccio, Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raffaello) - Piazza Signoria (open air collection of statues and Palazzo Vecchio) - Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge over the Arno River) With me as your guide it will be easier for you to listen the tour despite the everyday crowd, and I'll be happy to accommodate your requests by going faster through sites that don't interest you or stopping longer to see what's more relevant to you.
