Hello, I am a Licensed Tour Guide with a two decades experience and would like to share with you my great passion for Florence and Tuscany. I was born and raised in Florence, I measured in History and Art History (University of Florence), got a Master of Arts in Communication (CESI, Paris) and then became a licensed Tour Guide of Florence and Tuscany. After long stays in the USA, Latin America, France, Spain and Russia (that's how I learn four languages!) I decided to come back to my hometown and make a job of what I love best: Florence and its surroundings, the incredible beauty of its art and architecture, its thrilling history, the harmony of Tuscan landscapes as well as the flavors of local food and wines. I love to suggest and plan itineraries, going from best-known monuments (gothic Cathedrals, masterpieces of Renaissance painting, Michelangelo's statues) to hidden beauties (secret gardens, little medieval churches, narrow streets full of surprises). And I love to tell stories related to the places we are visiting, true ones as well as Middle Ages legends: I am myself a great traveller and I know how important is to customize the tours to the taste of my guests, with the goal to make their trip always a unique experience. During the winter I work as a photographer and I teach photography, another great passion of mine: this gives me the opportunity to propose the unique "Florence Photographic Tour", a walk through the streets and squares of the city center seeking for the best corners and points of views in order to bring back home unforgettable pictures (so different from regular postcards!). Not only I will bring you to places most tourists don't even know about, but I will also help you valuing your subjects by catching the best light and experimenting unusual perspectives. I look forward to showing you the treasures of Florence and Tuscany and having a good time with you! - Licensed Tour Guide of Florence and Tuscany - University Degree in History - University Degree in Art History - Master of Art in Communication - Biking Guide - Professional Photographer and Teacher of Photography - I am a driver and I can transport up to 4 people in my personal car. For bigger groups, I can rent a van. - I am licensed to give tours in English, Spanish, French, Russian and Italian. None.

Overview of your Florence tour

The Uffizi Gallery is the most ancient museum in the world since the Medici family (who opened the gallery in the 1580s) already allowed everybody to visit it upon request more than 430 years ago. Today the gallery hosts some of the greatest masterpieces of humanity and is definitely a "must see" to understand the evolution of Italian and European art from Middle Ages to Baroque. Together we are going to discover the world's best collection of Renaissance works, including the only picture Michelangelo ever painted on wood, the unique Mythologies by Sandro Botticelli (the very heart of the Florentine Renaissance) and the first picture ever painted by Leonardo da Vinci. We'll talk about the history, the iconography, the symbols, the technique of painting of each of the highlights of the collection, but we'll also go into the less known aspects of the masters' life and personality as well as the juicy anecdotes behind the scenes of the paintings.

Our tour with Stefano was wonderful. He was on time at our hotel and on the walk to Uffizi we were given information and history about the areas we were walking through and past. In the Uffizi he happily shared his knowledge about the art we were seeing and answered any questions we asked. Stefano was mindful of my husband's mobility issues and would check with him on his need for rest and made sure we went between floors on the elevator. I would recommend Stefano as a tour guide.

Our group loved Stefano's tours. Eight of us did a half-day Highlights of Florence and a full day Michelangelo tour. He is very knowledgable and tailored the tours to our interests. He was well-organized and curated the massive contents of the museums into interesting, informative, and fascinating tours. On our paths between churches and museums, he told us about central Florence. He also found fantastic restaurants for our lunches each day, allowing us to experience great Italian food. Book him!

Stefano T is a very well educated guide who speaks english clearly (and 5 other languages). He has degrees in history and art history, and is well versed in Italian art. He is patient, personable, and flexible. Our group of 4 was an hour late for a 2-hour tour because of a freeway accident, and he was gracious in accommodating us. His descriptions of works in the Uffizi provided a needed context. He told entertaining stories. He fielded all kinds of questions, and really was knowledgeable about Italy.

Your Florence tour itinerary

After the Middle Ages section, with a focus on the Florentine and Sienese school (Cimabue, Giotto, Duccio di Buoninsegna, Simone Martini), we will enter the spirit of the Florentine and Italian Renaissance through the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca, Sandro Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci. A short break at the cafeteria on the terrace is planned in the middle of the tour, then we will explore the art of geniuses like Raphael, Titian and Caravaggio. This is just a proposal, a customized itinerary can be agreed before the tour based on your personal taste.
