Hi Gente!! I was born and raised in Florence and live in one of the most ancient quarters of the city center with my husband and four children, the last of whom is named Michelangelo after you-know-who, I couldn't resist! Having had a full career with a major airline has given me the opportunity to travel the world, but my native city has remained my first love. I'm a university-trained expert in world history and Italian and European art history and have worked as a licensed guide since 2010. Living in Florence my entire life gives me the advantage of being able to share my city from a unique perspective. I can provide you with ideal, tailor-made walking tour or excursion itineraries whether your interests lie in exploring the most famous sites, museums and churches of Florence and Tuscany, or its fabulous wealth of lesser known treasures. As well as being able to provide simple or in-depth tours of those places most sought-out during first trips to the city, such as the galleries of the Uffizi, Accademia and Pitti Palace or the Cathedral Complex, my specialties include tandem family tours, Jewish Florence, The Florence of Dan Brown's Inferno, Florentine Arts & Crafts, The Medici Villas of the Countryside, and Contemporary Florence, to name just a few, as well as "fanciful" tours, like Timeless Love Stories of Florence, and tours that focus on a specific artist architect or theme. Additionally, I can organise excursions that will allow you to experience Tuscany outside of Florence, including its world famous wines, cheeses, olive oil and vinegar. If you're not sure exactly what you would like to accomplish during your holiday, we can work together to come up the best possible, individualized itineraries for you. Three good reasons for not visiting Florence without me: It's easier: you can pull your nose out of Google Maps or Lonely Planet and devote your full attention to the beautiful things you're traveling to Florence to see. It's smarter: You're coming face-to-face with over 2, 000 years of extraordinary events, unique works of art, famous people, and brilliant ideas-and I have it all in my head for you! It's more practical: see the two points immediately above. Are you on vacation or not?! Diploma in Tourism University level training in Art History University level training in Ancient, Medieval and Modern History Senior Cabin Manager at Alitalia, the national airline of Italy Tourist Guide License of Florence and district First Aid and CPR Certification, including use of Defibrillator I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I am licensed to give tours in Italian, French and English. Overview of your Florence tour

We will trace the evolution of the Renaissance through a selection of paintings housed in one of the most visited museums in the world: the Uffizi Gallery. Our journey will begin in the Early Renaissance with Lippi's amazing Madonnas and Botticelli's exquisite Venus. From there, we'll move on to work produced by the three greatest masters of the apex of the Renaissance: Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello. As we look at these extraordinary works of art together, I'll be explaining their significance in the history of art as well as telling you about the lives and times of their creators. I'll share details of the artists' personal histories and working styles as well as information about life and politics in Florence at the times in which they were working in order to give you a comprehensive understanding of these monumental works of art. The tour will continue exploring the highlights of Florence: piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio, piazza del Duomo with its stunning cathedral and baptistery.

Paola planned the perfect tour of the Uffizi Gallery. We learned so much from her and my three teenage kids loved it. Paola knows so much and has such great enthusiasm for her wonderful city of Florence. We highly recommend Paola! Ciao Bella!

Paola is a superb guide. I have used many TBL guides. Paola exceeds all of them by far. She is extremely knowledable and a joy to be with. You will not go wrong with her. She brought Uffizzi and Academia to life and helped us understand life in Italy. We left with many insights into Italian life.

Paola was a fantastic guide. She is a resident of Florence, and walked us through the Uffizi gallery, and then across town to Santa Croce Church providing tremendous perspective and historical context to each work of art, or historical site. We very much enjoyed our tour with Paola

We spent two mornings with Paola -- including this Uffizi + walking tour -- and have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She is such an engaging, excellent tour guide -- easy to be around and full of interesting information to share about the art, buildings, history, etc of Firenze. My son is quiet and not very expressive, and Paola was kind, engaging, and definitely kept us both interested. We were in Firenze 10 years ago and wanted to do a deeper dive this time. Paola gave us that and more!
