We will trace the evolution of the Renaissance through a selection of paintings housed in one of the most visited museums in the world: the Uffizi Gallery. Our journey will begin in the Early Renaissance with Lippi's amazing Madonnas and Botticelli's exquisite Venus. From there, we'll move on to work produced by the three greatest masters of the apex of the Renaissance: Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello. As we look at these extraordinary works of art together, I'll be explaining their significance in the history of art as well as telling you about the lives and times of their creators. I'll share details of the artists' personal histories and working styles as well as information about life and politics in Florence at the times in which they were working in order to give you a comprehensive understanding of these monumental works of art. The tour will continue exploring the highlights of Florence: piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio, piazza del Duomo with its stunning cathedral and baptistery.
2. 0 hours guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery and 1 hour walking tour of the historical centre of Florence. I will meet you at arranged location and we walk to the Uffizi gallery where our tour will begin from the Medieval school of Cimabue and Giotto, forerunners of the Renaissance and will continue with Masaccio, Filippo Lippi, Sandro Botticelli and Piero della Francesca, until the three great Masters: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raffaello. Our exploration of the Italian painting will finish with Tiziano and the intense and revolutionary Caravaggio. We will do external visit of piazza della Signoria, ponte Vecchio and piazza del Duomo.
